Nokia has been awarded a ten-year extension to its existing 5G network deal with Antina, a joint venture between M1 and StarHub mobile network operators in Singapore. This comes after a competitive tender process. Nokia will deploy an indoor and outdoor 5G Standalone (SA) network, and also expand the existing network by utilizing Antina’s 3.5GHz spectrum holdings. Apple will be increasing the price of products in its App Store in some countries to changes in the exchange rates. The changes have been notified by Apple to developers in an email.
Apple has chosen Singapore as the location to open its first Apple Store in South East Asia. The Store will reportedly run on renewable energy, namely solar energy.
Although it’s the Indian wing of Xiaomi that’s making the most noise for reasons obvious (read: Xiaomi Mi3 launch in India), other, regional Xiaomi branches are making sure they aren’t left behind.
Xiaomi, the company that was recently in the news for insane flash sales and earlier, for the hire of Android VP Hugo Barra, has laid out plans to expand beyond China. Singapore is one of the first markets in which Xiaomi is targeting for its full fledged operations, as a part of its expansion to South East Asia. Hugo Barra was appointed as the company’s VP of global operations and it seems like his work is now in full swing. Xiaomi’s top executives were recently in Taiwan for a fan gathering, addressing their huge fan base with quizzes, oversized T-Shirts and even a performance from Hugo Barra, who sang and danced to a popular Taiwanese song!

Looks like Apple is all set to launch the iPhone 4S in more countries on October 28th. The pre-order pages for the countries part of the Oct 28 launch went up few hours ago. Amongst those countries , the only country in Asia is Singapore where Apple products are normally priced similar to the United States. Here we have news of the Singapore prices of the iPhone 4S. Prices start from 948 SGD for the 16GB version , 1088 SGD for the 32GB version and 1238 SGD for the 64GB version.This works out to about Rs.38000 approx for the 16GB version , Rs.42500 approx for the 32GB version and Rs.48400 approx for the top-end 64GB variant. you might also have to pay GST or a Sales Tax in addition to the above price. From the pricing , one can assume that the device is sold unlocked but we don’t have confirmation of that.But the product family page mentions the word unlocked.The part number for the basic version is MD235ZA/A.
