Singtel to acquire 7.4% stake in Bharti Telecom

Singapore Telecommunications (Singtel) has acquired 7.39 percent stake in the Indian telecom company, Bharti Telecom the parent of Bharti Airtel. It plans to acquire a 21 percent stake in Intouch for 1.58 billion Singapore dollars ($1.18 billion) and an additional 7.39 percent stake in Bharti Telecom for 884 million Singapore dollars ($650 million), through wholly-owned subsidiaries.

Singapore now has a 4th telecom provider – Focuses on data plans

Up until 2016, Singapore has had only 3 telecom providers namely – Singtel, M1 and Starhub apart from a brief stint from Virgin Mobile back in 2002. Now, a new company by the name of Circles.Life has launched with aims to provide users with data plans like no other.

iPhone 4 coming soon to Singtel in Singapore

The much hyped and anticipated iPhone 4 is expected to launch in more countries next month. It is scheduled to hit Singapore and Hong Kong and Singapore soon. Singtel  which is Singapore’s largest operator has opened Registrations for iPhone 4 indicating they are planning to get stocks based on consumer interest.
