Airtel also launched ‘XStream’ web version recently and now, it has rebranded the Airtel TV app to Airtel XStream and the company has also is also launching new streaming devices in the country soon.

JioFiber launching on September 5 – Plans start from Rs. 700, free landline with unlimited calling, free TV and 4K Set-top box with annual plans

Reliance Jio at its 42nd annual general meeting (AGM) in Mumbai announced that Jio Fiber will roll out commercially starting from September 5th, 2019 on the third anniversary of Jio’s launch. This will reach 20 million residences and 15 million business establishments in 1,600 towns and will expand in the next 12 months, said Mukesh Ambani. It started trials  for JioGigaFiber services from August 15th last year.

T-Mobile and Sprint merger approved by US Department of Justice

Back in 2017, T-Mobile and Sprint ceased discussions to merge into a single entity since they could not find mutually agreeable terms. But last year, both the companies agreed to merge in a deal valued at US$146 billion. Reliance Jio reports Rs. 891 crore profit in FY Q1 2019-20, JioGigaFiber trials in final stages

Reliance Jio has reported Rs. 11679 crore revenue, up 5.2 % QoQ and 44% YoY and a net profit of 891 crore, up 6.1% QoQ and 45.6% YoY for its eigth quarterly financial performance for the period that ended 30th June
2019.  Jio reported Standalone earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) of 4,686 crore, up 8.2% QoQ, EBITDA margin of 40.1%, and Standalone earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) of 3,029 crore, up 17.2% QoQ . Airtel strengthen 4G network with LTE 900 technology as 3G network shuts down in Kolkata

Airtel today announced that it has shutdown its 3G network in Kolkata, and only 4G network will be available in the city. It has refarmed the 900 MHz band spectrum being used for 3G to further strengthen its 4G network, which will be rolled out across the country in phased manner. It has deployed state-of-the-art L900 technology in the 900 MHz band to complement its 4G services in the 2300 Mhz and 1800 Mhz bands.

Airtel launches 4G services in Lakshadweep Islands

Airtel today launched 4G services in Lakshadweep, and the company claims that it is the first mobile operator to launch 4G services in the island, however BSNL had launched 4G services in Kavaratti back in November last year. Airtel 4G services will be available in Agatti, Bangaram and Kavaratti to begin with and will be gradually expanded to other islands of the archipelago.
