Update – January 17, 2019 – The Survival game is now available from Mi App Store for eligible Xiaomi devices. The game is just 185MB so you can’t expect PUBG-like graphics. If you don’t have Xiaomi smartphone, you can download the APK from here and install it manually.

At the Redmi Note 7 launch event last week Xiaomi confirmed that it will launch the Redmi Note 7 Pro soon with Sony IMX586 sensor replacing the Samsung ISOCELL Bright GM1 sensor on the Redmi Note 7. The smartphone is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 675, according to new reports from China. The Redmi Note 7 uses Snapdragon 660. New SoC and camera sensor might bump up the price of the smartphone slightly.

Xiaomi did not introduce anything at the CES earlier this month, but the company has announced an event at the MWC on February 24th next month. It did not say what it will unveil the event, but we can expect the Mi MIX 3 5G that was teased at the Mi MIX 3 event back in October last year. It also said that the 5G version will launch in Q1 2019 and it has on display in Qualcomm booth at CES.

Last year Xiaomi introduced Mi 8 Explorer Edition and later in the year it introduced Mi 8 Pro with pressure-sensitive in-display fingerprint sensor that is 29% faster. This week President Lin Bin shared the next-generation in-display fingerprint on a Mi 8 test unit. Xiaomi has a good reputation when it comes to providing software (MIUI) support to devices, but the story changes when it comes to providing Android updates. Xiaomi introduced MIUI 10 at its Mi 8 launch event back in May last year in China. Yesterday, at its Annual Meeting for MIUI division to discuss the past year and future development, the company said that it has started the development of MIUI 11. Xiaomi just announced Redmi Note 7, the company’s latest mid-range smartphone under the new ‘Redmi by Xiaomi’ brand in China, as it had promised. The phone packs a 6.3-inch Full HD+ waterdrop notch display with 1.95mm narrow bezels, is powered by Snapdragon 660 with up to 6GB of RAM, runs Android Pie with MIUI 10 on top. The main highlight of the smartphone is its 48-megapixel rear camera with 1/2″ Samsung ISOCELL Bright GM1 sensor, f/1.8 aperture with four-in-one pixel binning to make an 12MP image with 1.6μm pixel. It has a 5-megapixel secondary camera for portrait shots and also comes with AI features. There is a 13-megapixel camera on the front.

It has eight drivers, including two 20mm dome tweeters for the highs, two 2.5” woofers for the mids and four passive radiators for the lows and enhanced bass. In Addition to Bluetooth, it also has Line-In, AUX, Optical and S/PDIF input options.
