Google announced the Digital Wellbeing feature last year aimed at being responsible with smartphone usage. Digital Wellbeing helps users understand their smartphone usage better, app usage timers help users limit the usage, visuals detailing how many times the phone was unlocked each day and how many notifications were received. MIUI 11 New Features and First look on Redmi Note 7 Pro

Xiaomi announced the latest iteration of its own proprietary Android skin MIUI, dubbed MIUI 11 along with Mi 9 Pro 5G, Mi MIX Alpha 5G, and Mi AirDots Pro 2 at an event in China earlier this week. MIUI 11 aims to bring brand new optimized modern UI design focused on content viewing. Xiaomi Redmi Y2 gets Android 9.0 Pie-based MIUI Global Stable ROM [Update: Roll out resumes]

Update: September 24, 2019 – Xiaomi has resumed roll out after it was paused recently. This has new 10.3.5.0 build number and includes Android security patch for September, 2019. Those who had already downloaded it previously, will not receive this update, said the company. Some are getting a 178MB update with just the security patch. Redmi K20 said to receive Android 10 update as early as October

[Update, Jan 3, 2020]: Xiaomi has finally started rolling out Android 10 based MIUI 11 update to Redmi K20 as well as Mi 9T in India and Europe.

[Sep 13, 2019]: The Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro smartphones made debut under the Redmi sub-brand in China back in May, the company launched the Redmi K20 as Mi 9T in some markets later in June. Both the smartphones made their way to India under Redmi branding back in July. To recall, the Redmi K20 (Mi 9T) packs a 6.39-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with 91.9% screen-to-body ratio and is powered by Snapdragon 730 with 6GB of RAM. MIUI 11 with new design, new icons, cross-device file sharing technology surface ahead of official announcement

MIUI Game Turbo 2.0 Overview

Xiaomi introduced MIUI Game Speed Booster back in 2018 and introduced MIUI Game Turbo back in March this year, it is a framework enhancement that results in CPU and GPU smart allocation, and more system resources for games. During the Redmi K20 series launch event in India, Xiaomi unveiled MIUI Game Turbo 2.0 that comes with performance mode 2.0, touch enhancements 2.0, and enhanced visuals 2.0.

Android 10 based MIUI 10 — New Features and First look on Redmi K20 Pro

Last month, Google revealed that next release of Android will be called Android 10 instead of Android Q and it won’t be named based on any dessert, and unveiled new brand logo and color for the Android. This morning, Android 10 update started rolling out to Pixel series of devices and Essential phone. Xiaomi also started rolling out Android 10 based MIUI 10 update for the Redmi K20 Pro in India and China but it was rolled out only to Beta testers that company recently recruited.

Redmi K20 Pro Android 10 based MIUI 10 testing to start soon as recruitment begins

Xiaomi launched the Redmi K20 Pro smartphone in India last month running MIUI 10.3 Global Stable on top of Android 9.0 (Pie), the smartphone recently made its debut as Mi 9T Pro in global markets. The Redmi K20 Pro Chinese variant was amongst the devices eligible for Android Q Beta update.

Xiaomi Redmi 7A gets MIUI 10.2.7.0 with Portrait Mode and AI Scene Detection

Xiaomi launched the Redmi 7Asmartphone in India back in July running MIUI 10.2 Global Stable on top of Android 9.0. The smartphone packs a 5.45-inch HD+ 18:9 aspect ratio display, is powered by Snapdragon 439, and has a 12-megapixel Sony IMX486 rear camera sensor. During the launch, the company announced that Redmi 7A will offer portrait mode and AI scene detection and promised to roll out the features with future OTA updates.

MIUI App Vault update brings Dark Mode along with new Advance Security Tools

Xiaomi introduced App Vault back in 2017 with MIUI 9 Global Stable with an aim to bring convenience at users tip. MIUI App Vault shows cards for various services and is an attempt similar to Google Now cards for showing all the important information in one place and can be assessed in a similar fashion by swiping left on the home screen.

Xiaomi Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A Android 9.0 Pie-based MIUI global stable update starts rolling out

Xiaomi launched the Redmi 6A and Redmi 6 smartphones in India last yera running MIUI 9.5 based on Android 8.1 (Oreo) update, and the stable MIUI 10 OTA update for the phones rolled out soon after the launch. In February, the company started recruiting beta testers for testing Android Pie based MIUI 10 Global Beta ROM for various devices but didn’t announce update plans for Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A, later, the company announced that both the smartphones will receive Android Pie based MIUI Global Stable ROM.
