Xiaomi Redmi Note 7/7S MIUI Software Update Tracker [Update: MIUI V10.3.7.0 with August Security Patch]

Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 7 smartphone in India back in February running MIUI 10.2 Global Stable on top of Android 9.0 (Pie) and launched the updated Redmi Note 7S with 48 MP rear camera back in May running MIUI 10.2 Global Stable on top of Android 9.0 (Pie). Xiaomi doesn’t follow any fixed update frequency for the MIUI Global Stable ROM but on an average, the Global Stable ROM is updated once in 30-60 days.

Xiaomi Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A Android 9.0 Pie-based MIUI global stable update starts rolling out

Xiaomi launched the Redmi 6A and Redmi 6 smartphones in India last yera running MIUI 9.5 based on Android 8.1 (Oreo) update, and the stable MIUI 10 OTA update for the phones rolled out soon after the launch. In February, the company started recruiting beta testers for testing Android Pie based MIUI 10 Global Beta ROM for various devices but didn’t announce update plans for Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A, later, the company announced that both the smartphones will receive Android Pie based MIUI Global Stable ROM. Xiaomi launched the Redmi Y2 in India running MIUI 9.5 on top of Android 8.1 (Oreo) and later rolled out MIUI 10 update back in September 2018. MIUI update brings shortcut to switch SIM card for data connectivity

Xiaomi’s MIUI is amongst the most popular android skins with more than 300 million worldwide users. MIUI is a heavy skin on top of Android, but what sets it apart from other Android skins is its feature richness and customizations. Xiaomi used to roll out MIUI Global Beta ROM update biweekly, including closed beta on every Tuesday and public beta on every Friday but last month, the company announced its plan to terminate MIUI Global Beta ROM program and said that Global Beta ROM updates will not be released after 1 July. Xiaomi confirms Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A Android Pie update plans

Update 4: June 28, 2019 —  Looks like Xiaomi has changed its mind. After saying that it doesn’t have plans to provide Android Pie update plans few months back, Xiaomi now says that it is looking for testers for global stable ROM for Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A smartphones, since it will end beta updates for all phones from July. However, it is yet to roll out pie update for the Redmi S2/Y2 as it had promised to roll out the update around June.

Xiaomi suspends MIUI Global Beta ROM, will release stable updates more frequently

With more than 300 million global users Xiaomi’s MIUI is amongst the most popular Android skins. MIUI Global ROM has different versions such as Stable and Beta to cater to different users. Xiaomi smartphones come preloaded with MIUI Global Stable ROM pre-installed, and these builds are claimed to be most stable and are recommended for day-to-day usage to normal users by the company. MIUI Global Beta ROM is designed keeping smartphone enthusiasts in mind who want to be amongst the first ones to experience new features, but Beta ROM is not as good as Stable ROM in terms of stability. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro gets Android 9.0 Pie-based MIUI 10.3 Global Stable update with Dark Mode [Download Link]

Xiaomi launched its first dual-camera phone Redmi Note 5 Pro in India last year running MIUI 9.2 on top of Android 7.1 (Nougat) and later updated it to MIUI 9.5 based on Android 8.1 (Oreo) back in June 2018. MIUI 9.5 also brought some new features such as full-screen gesture support, Dual 4G VoLTE and more to Redmi Note 5 Pro. Later in September 2018, the company rolled out MIUI 10 update for the smartphone, followed by Android 9.0 (Pie) based MIUI 10 Global Beta update in March 2019.
