It’s that time of the year, again! Android 12 Stable release for Pixel devices is just around the corner, and Android OEMs have started announcing the next iterations of their proprietary UI. Earlier this month, OPPO announced ColorOS 12, and also released a detailed roll-out plan for OPPO and OnePlus devices. Now, Xiaomi has gone a step ahead, and announced the Android 12 Stable testing program for Mi 11 series devices.

In fact, people often opt for services that work on most platforms instead of locking themselves into an app that’s available only on devices from one manufacturer. Redmi Note 9 gets MIUI 12 Global Stable Update in India [Download Link]

Xiaomi launched Redmi Note 9 in the country last month. To recall, the device features a 6.53-inch Full HD+ LCD, is powered MediaTek Helio G85 12nm SoC with up to 6GB of RAM, and runs Android 10 based MIUI 11. Xiaomi has already unveiled the latest iteration of its proprietary Android skin MIUI, dubbed MIUI 12 Global back in May, though the company is yet to formally announce MIUI 12 for India.

Get Android 10 on Redmi Note 7 Pro with OxygenOS port

Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 7 Pro smartphone in India back in February last year running MIUI 10.2 Global Stable on top of Android 9.0 (Pie). The smartphone has already started receiving Android 10 update along with MIUI 12 in India, but limited to Pilot testers only for now. Redmi Note series devices usually have a great custom ROM development, and Redmi Note 7 series is no exception to the family.

Oxygen OS is amongst popular Android skin that offers smooth experience along with a decent amount of customizations without much bloatware. A couple of months ago, we had tried Android 10 based Oxygen OS ported ROM on our Redmi Note 7  (lavender). Recently developers ported Android 10 based Oxygen OS to Redmi Note 7 Pro (Violet), we tried it on our unit and here is our review of the same.

realme Watch and realme Band get new updates bringing new Watch faces and more

realme launched realme Watch in the country a couple of months ago with support for 12 watch faces. During the launch, the company had mentioned that it will soon bring 100 more watch faces to the realme Watch with OTA update. Now, realme has started rolling out a new update for realme Watch bringing new watch faces. Along with realme Watch, realme Band is also receiving a similar update.

How to Uninstall Clean Master Service on Xiaomi and realme devices without root

Towards the end of June, the Indian Government announced it’s plan to ban 59 Chinese apps including TikTok, ShareIt, and Clean Master. Cheetah Mobiles, the company behind Clean Master was in news a few months back when Google decided to pull off quite a few of their apps from Google Play Store including the Antutu benchmark. Apps like Clean Master were popular amongst users which helped in clearing the cache of the phone. To those unaware Cheetah Mobiles is a subsidiary of Kingsoft Corporation. Xiaomi CEO and co-founder Lei Jun has also served as CEO and Chairman of the Kingsoft in the past.

Mi 9, Mi 9T and Mi 9T Pro Start receiving MIUI 12 Global Stable Update

Xiaomi unveiled the latest iteration of its own proprietary Android skin MIUI, dubbed MIUI 12 Global at an event in Europe last month. MIUI 12 brings brand-new design Animations, and Dark Mode 2.0. It focuses on Privacy, Security, and Multitasking and shows all sensitive behaviors of an app. During MIUI 12 Global launch, the company promised to roll-out MIUI 12 Global Stable update for Mi 9, Mi 9T (Redmi K20 in India and China), and Mi 9T Pro (Redmi K20 in India and China) in June.

Get Android 10 on Redmi Note 8 with Extended UI

Xiaomi’s Redmi unveiled the Redmi Note 8 series in the country back in October running MIUI 10.3 Global Stable on top of Android 9.0 (Pie) and later rolled out MIUI 11 update to both the smartphones. The Pro variant has been the talk of the town since it is superior to the vanilla Redmi Note 8 in every aspect, but Redmi Note 8 has better custom ROM and mods support compared to its Pro sibling, thanks to the Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC.

Redmi Note 8 Pro has already received Android 10 update but Redmi Note 8 still runs on Android 9, but you can always install a custom ROM to stay on the latest version of Android.
