We want Mugen Batteries for our Nokia N8!

We here at Fone Arena are big fans of Mugen Power Batteries, this uprising company from the east, providing us power-hungry geeks with more juice for all our favourite devices, most notably batteries for smartphones. Over at the Mugen Website you will be able to find extended batteries for all types of smartphones, most of them even having two options offered. Normally Mugen would have one OEM-sized version, and a bigger battery, with imense power (for example an insane 4.800mAh battery for the Motorola Atrix!). If you want to know more about the actual performance, check out Jon’s review from a couple of days ago, where he had a look at the Motorola Milestone 2 battery! The Spice Mi410 Review

Android is pretty big an eco-system and as an OS it has seen tremendous growth. The recent reports clearly show that Android is the one that is growing, thriving and completely dominating. Android from Google also is responsible for the rise of many new, small, hitherto unknown manufacturers coming into the game. It’s also been responsible for the re-emergence of Sony Ericsson and Motorola. It’s no wonder that today it’s pretty much the OS of choice for developers and users.

India has seen a positive adoption rate for Android. Many Indian brands have introduced Android smartphones at entry levels that have completely changed the way we look at mobile phones. Spice has been quite gung-ho on Android, launching many devices on the platform. It’s no wonder that today it has one of the largest Android portfolios amongst Indian brands. In fact their latest endeavour puts them squarely in the territory of big boys. The Android powered MI410 is the first Android phone from an Indian brand to really take the fight to the bigger boys and their toys. Continue reading “The Spice Mi410 Review”

Picture Gallery: Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc, sexyness included!

It was just last week, when i received a device I was looking forward to a lot: The brand new Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc. Set to steer Sony Ericsson out of the swamp they were drowning in, this piece of hotness comes with a 4,2″ LCD screen with a new Bravia Engine technology, an 8MP camera with Exmor R sensor and dual LED flash, 720p video recording at 30fps and continuous autofocus. On top of that all sits Android 2.3 aka Gingerbread, customized by Sony Ericsson. This all comes packed in a 8.9mm thin plastic body. And oh my god, this is really thin. Is it worth the hype? Read that in my upcoming Thoughts from Hell, where i take a closer look at what is hot, and what not with the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc. In the meantime, feast your eyes on yet another of my picture galleries.

Sprint smartphone data rate increases, value remains

As many of you have already read Sprint yesterday announced that they were increasing their smartphone data plans by $10 a month. If you were browsing headlines you immediately assumed this was a bad thing, more equals less for your money right? Sprint has an added value for their customers in that they offer one of the only truly unlimited data plans on the market. Even T-Mobile, which is known for affordable data plans, limits your bandwidth once you exceed the fair use policy. By adding an extra $10 for the new premium data you still save money when compared to others which can charge up to $29.99 on top of your talk minutes. Not only are the “Everything Data” plans cheaper but they actually offer unlimited data, not capped at the 2GB or 5GB limit like other carriers. For the average consumer this means you can use your phone without worrying about going over your allocated data limit, accruing large fees in the process .Nobody likes it when prices increase however when you stack it up against the competition I think you will see that the increase isn’t a bad thing after all. Below are the facts, you be the judge. Continue reading “Sprint smartphone data rate increases, value remains”
