Sprint files lawsuit against AT&T over its ‘5G E’ branding

AT&T back in December started repacing 4G LTE indicator with ‘5G E’ logo phones and networks that use 4G LTE Advanced technology. However, Sprint which is another major carrier in the US has filed a lawsuit in federal court, seeking an injunction to prevent AT&T from using 5G E tags on its devices or advertising. Sprint and Nokia to demo First Live 5G NR Connection over Massive MIMO

Nokia and Sprint today announced that they will showcase the first live demonstration of a 5G New Radio (NR) connection over a dual mode-capable Massive MIMO radio at Sprint’s booth during Mobile World Congress Americas. For this, both the companies will use Sprint’s 2.5 GHz spectrum, Nokia’s commercial AirScale Base Station and Massive MIMO Active Antenna, and a VIAVI TM500 5G test device emulator. Qualcomm introduced the Snapdragon 850 Mobile Compute Platform for Windows 10 PCs and Samsung is the first OEM to implement the Snapdragon 850 for Always-on, Always-Connected User Experiences. The Snapdragon 850 Mobile Compute Platform features the Snapdragon X20 LTE modem and the Qualcomm AI Engine in a future device. LG G Flex 2 on Sprint gets 5.1.1 Lollipop OTA update

Sprint has begun the roll-out of Android Lollipop 5.1.1 for the LG G Flex 2 devices on its network. The update was made live as an OTA update for users yesterday. The update changes the version number from LS996ZV5 to LS996ZV6.

Spirnt has announced the  Motorola ADMIRAL, the first smartphone that boasts Sprint Direct Connect speed. It is powered by a 1.2GHz processor and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). It feature a 3.1-inch (640 x 480 pixels) touchscreen display and QWERTY keyboard. It has push-to-talk capabilities with Sprint Direct Connect that uses Sprint 3G (EVDO Rev. A) network. HTC Arrive gets updated to Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango)

HTC Arrive which was launched in March this year, with a sliding qwerty keyboard and a 1GHz processor running Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7, has received a Windows Phone 7.5 update which can be seen on Sprint’s site which was just updated.

Google Wallet launched on Sprint’s Nexus S 4G in USA

Google has launched their Google Wallet on the Sprint’s Nexus 4G in USA. This would let the Sprint Nexus 4G users make purchases with a simple tap using NFC (Near Field Communication) on their phone.  The Google Wallet app would be available through an over-the-air update for Sprint’s Nexus 4G devices. Sprint confirms iPhone 5 launch window , to offer unlimited data options
