OPPO RX17 Pro and RX17 Neo with 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, in-display fingerprint sensor announced

OPPO has announced RX17 Pro and RX17 Neo smartphones for Europe, at an event in Italy. Both the smartphone feature a 6.4-inch Full HD+ 19:9 aspect ratio AMOLED display with a notch, 91.5% screen-to-body ratio, an in-display fingerprint sensor that can unlock the phone in 0.41 seconds, run ColorOS 5.2 based on Android 8.1 (Oreo) and has a 25-megapixel AI front camera, similar to the R17 Pro. The RX17 Pro is powered by Snapdragon 710 SoC with up to 8GB RAM, while the RX17 Neo is powered by Snapdragon 660 with 4GB of RAM. After leaks, OnePlus has officially introduced the new Thunder Purple color variant in China that joins the Midnight Black and Mirror Black variants. It has a Gradiant finish on the back and a has five different layers of frosted glass have been carefully applied to the device to create the elegance look and feel. Similar to the Midnight Black, this has a jagged texture etched onto the film to produce a subtle S-shaped line when the phone is reflected in light.

Worldwide tablet shipments declined 8.6% in Q3 2018, Apple and Samsung continue to lead: IDC

According to IDC, the worldwide tablet market declined 8.6% during the Q3 2018. The global shipments fell to 36.4 million and the slate tablets accounted for the majority of the market with 31.6 million units, down 7.9% from the previous year. Detachable tablets also declined, down 13.1% from the previous year, and accounted for 4.8 million unit shipments. Honor WaterPlay Water-resistant tablet with 8-inch display, dual rear cameras, 4G LTE, 5100mAh battery announced

A year after the introduction of the Honor WaterPlay, its first water-resistant tablet with IP67 ratings, the company has launched a 8-inch version of the tablet. It has a 8-inch WUXGA screen, is powered by Kirin 659 SoC and runs on Android 8.0 (Nougat) with EMUI 8.0 on top. It has stereo speakers with Huawei Histen 5.0 3D audio technology and a fingerprint sensor embedded into the home button.
