In India, the segment is getting interesting with time as major smartphone OEMs such as Xiaomi and realme have released their affordable TWS earbuds. realme launched its first TWS offering realme Buds Air in India back in December. Now after a long wait, Xiaomi has finally launched its first TWS Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 in India. realme Buds Air and Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 are priced INR 3,999 and INR 4,499 respectively.

Xiaomi announces MIUI 12 pilot testing for various devices including Redmi K20 series

POCO M2004J11G passes through EEC, could be POCO F2 [Update: M2004J11g appears on TKDN Certification]

[Update: 1 May, 2020]: M2004J11G has been now spotted on TKDN, Indonesia smartphone certification, last month same smartphone appeared on EEC. Recently, official Global account name was changed from POCOPHONE Global to POCO, hinting towards the release of a new product.

realme announces Android 10-based realme UI Early Access for realme 3 and realme 3i [Update: Android 10 based realme UI 1.0 roll-out started for selected users]

[April 11, 2020]: realme has started rolling out Android 10 based realme UI 1.0 update to realme 3 and realme 3i users in India. The update comes as RMX1827EX_11_C.03 and weighs 2.46 GBs in size. Note that the update is rolled out only for the users who are selected for the early access program.

Redmi Note 8 Pro finally gets official Pixel Experience support

Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 8 series in India back in October. To recall, Redmi Note 8 Pro was the world’s first smartphone to be powered by the gaming-focused MediaTek Helio G90T SoC. Redmi K30 Pro will not be rebranded as POCO F2, POCO TWS earbuds coming soon: POCO GM [Update: TWS in-ear buds confirmed]

[Update]: In a Zoom video chat session conducted on March 30, Manmohan had confirmed that the company is working on TWS earbuds. Today POCO team has put a teaser on twitter saying True wireless in-ears TWS is in works and will be coming to India soon. We can expect these to launch in India in coming weeks. realme releases Android 10 based Kernel Sources for realme 3 Pro and realme 5 Pro

realme has been rolling out Android 10 based realme UI 1.0 to the eligible devices as per the official schedule. realme 3 Pro, realme XT, realme 5 Pro, realme X, realme X2 and realme X2 Pro have already received Android 10 based realme UI 1.0 update so far, the company will update realme 3 and 3i to realme UI 1.0 this month. Android 10 based LineageOS 17.1 Official now available for several devices including POCO F1

LineageOS, the fork of most popular Custom ROM of its time CyanogenMod, is popular amongst custom ROMs enthusiasts. LineageOS team recently announced LineageOS 17.1 and dropped LineageOS 17.1 build for quite a few popular devices including POCO F1. LineageOS 17.1 uses Android 10 as the base, and the team behind had been working on the project since Android 10 announcement in September 2019 but the Permission Hub feature in AOSP conflicted with the Privacy Guard feature available in LineageOS causing the unforeseen delay and making the development team release LineageOS 17.1 instead of 17.0.

Xiaomi releases Android 10 based Kernel Sources for Redmi K30 Pro 5G

Xiaomi’s Redmi launched its latest smartphone in the flagship killer K series, Redmi K30 Pro 5G along with Zoom edition in China last week. Redmi K30 Pro 5G is the successor to Redmi K20 Pro which was quite popular and an easy recommendation in its price category in India.
