Redmi Note 8 Pro finally gets official Pixel Experience support

Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 8 series in India back in October. To recall, Redmi Note 8 Pro was the world’s first smartphone to be powered by the gaming-focused MediaTek Helio G90T SoC. Redmi Note series devices usually have great third-party development support, the company even provided units to a few renowned developers for the development.

There wasn’t much development for Redmi Note 8 Pro till now due to different complications due to the MediaTek chipset on the device but seems like things are about to change now. Though the smartphone received Android 10 update officially a couple of weeks ago.

In case you wish to enjoy a Pixel like Android experience on your Redmi Note 8 Pro, there is good news for you as Redmi Note 8 Pro finally gets official Pixel Experience (Android 10 based) support. Note that this is a Beta release, so you may encounter some bugs.

For those unaware, Pixel Experience is amongst the popular AOSP based custom ROMs that aims towards providing a Pixel-like stock Android experience. It takes no bloat approach along with Pixel exclusive features to provide users pure vanilla Android experience on any device.

To flash a custom ROM, users need to unlock the bootloader of their devices and flash a custom recovery, but make sure to take a backup of your data before proceeding.
