Xiaomi has introduced the REDMI 17 and REDMI 5G, the company’s latest smartphones in the number series for the global markets soon after the REDMI Note 17 was launched in India.
Display and Design
These pack a 6.9-inch HD+ 120Hz AdaptiveSync LCD screen with a centre punch-hole. Protected by Corning® Gorilla® Glass 7i, rated IP64 for dust and water resistance, and equipped with Wet Touch Technology. Features Triple TÜV Rheinland certifications and DC dimming for eye care.
Incorporates a flat display, matte frame, Metal Deco design, and a Dynamic RGB Light system that provides visual notifications for calls, charging, gaming, and app alerts.
Performance and Software
The REDMI 17 is powered by Powered by the MediaTek Helio G91-Ultra SoC and the REDMI 17 5G is powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 Mobile Platform. These have up to 6 GB RAM with up to 12 GB RAM (including memory extension). These ship with Xiaomi HyperOS 3 with Android 16 on top for improved responsiveness and system animations.
Camera and Audio
The phones pack a 50MP AI dual camera system supporting dual-view recording (front and rear simultaneous capture) and a 8MP front camera. These have Dual stereo speakers with a volume boost feature capable of reaching up to 300%.
Battery and Charging
The phones pack a 7500mAh battery with 45W turbo charging, reaching a full charge in approximately 96 minutes, with a 35-minute top-up providing sufficient power for daily use. These support 22.5W wired reverse charging to power external accessories.

The REDMI 17 comes in Black, Deep Blue, Oak Green, and Lotus Purple colors and starts at USD 179 (Rs. 17,040 approx.) for the 4GB + 128GB model.
The REDMI 17 5G comes in Black, Deep Blue, Vivid Orange (PU leather finish) colors and starts at USD 249 (Rs. 23,710 approx.) for the 4GB + 128GB model. These are also available in 4GB + 256GB, 6GB + 128GB, and 6GB + 256GB options. Global roll out is expected soon, and we can also expect the India launch soon.
