Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 was amongst the best selling devices launched last year in India, despite launching in 2017 it was launched with Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) and was updated to Android 7.0 (Nougat) in August 2017. Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite Android Pie Beta testing to start soon as the company opens registrations

Xiaomi launched the second-generation Android One devices – Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite back in July at an event in Spain. At the event, Xiaomi and Google promised Android version updates along with monthly security patch updates as the device was launched under the Android One program. Going by the history of first gen of Android One device Mi A1, Xiaomi has managed to provide monthly security patch updates, but it has struggled to deliver on the promise of keeping the Android version up to date as Android Oreo 8.1 update for Mi A1 was delayed and was released in June 2018. Xiaomi Redmi 5A MIUI 10 Stable OTA update starts rolling out in India [Download link]

Xiaomi launched the Redmi 5A a year ago running MIUI 9 based on Android 7.1 Nougat. As per an official announcement, Redmi 5A is eligible for Android Oreo update, the device has already been updated to Oreo with MIUI China Beta ROM update last week. MIUI Global Beta ROM for Redmi 5A is not released for past couple of weeks and we are expecting Android Oreo based MIUI Global Beta ROM to be released soon. The company started rolling out MIUI 10 Stable for Redmi Note 4 couple of days ago, and today it has started rolling out MIUI 10 Global Stable ROM for Redmi 5A. Xiaomi announced MIUI 10 Global back in June at an event in India and rolled out MIUI 10 Global Stable ROM for Redmi Y2, Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro in September. POCO F1 Widevine L1 support expected to arrive soon

Xiaomi’s sub-brand POCO launched POCO F1 couple of months ago in India, the smartphone has been in news since the launch for the good reasons except for a  few issues, but the company has been very responsive towards addressing the issues. POCO F1 lacks widevine L1 support because of which POCO F1 users can not stream HD content on Netflix and Amazon Prime Videos, in response to users on Twitter the company spokesperson mentioned that company is investigating the issue. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro is amongst best-selling devices launched this year, Xiaomi launched it running on Android Nougat despite launching in February and later in June rolled out Android Oreo update. Redmi Note 5 Pro runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 mobile platform and devices like Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1, Nokia 6.1 Plus and Motorola One Power with the same SoC are confirmed to receive Android Pie update in the coming month but Xiaomi has not announced their plans about Redmi Note 5 Pro Android Pie update. Xiaomi launched Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro duo in India back in February, the company usually releases successors of devices at an interval of 10-12 months but this year Xiaomi launched Redmi 6 and Redmi 6 Pro within 6 months of launching Redmi 5, and it seems like Xiaomi is preparing to launch Redmi Note 6 Pro in India which was announced last month in Thailand. Xiaomi adds more perks for Reward Mi users in India including Paytm, Cleartrip and Hungama vouchers

Mi.com was the first technology e-commerce platform in India to offer a reward program called Reward Mi which was announced by Xiaomi India back in June 2017. Reward Mi is a program to rewards fans with exclusive benefits such as F-codes and discount coupons which can be redeemed on selected products on mi.com. Earlier this year, Xiaomi India announced another reward program called Mi VIP Club for its fans and classified VIP fans into four levels called Silver Class, Gold Class, Platinum Class, and Diamond Class.
