It is the time of the year where we start seeing leaks and rumors about the next Pixel smartphone from Google. In the same lines, today, Google’s own website accidentally confirms the existence of Pixel 3a smartphone. Pixel 3a is said to be a smaller and lighter version of Pixel 3.

Netflix is testing weekly subscription in India, plan starts at Rs.65 per week

Netflix was launched in India in January 2016 with three plans for India starting at Rs.500, Rs.650, and Rs.800 respectively. We have been seeing the company bundling its services in partnership with various operators too. Now, Netflix has started testing a new weekly subscription in India and the plan is said to start at Rs.65/week. The new plans are showing only for selected users as of now.

Google releases Smart Reply API for third-party Android and iOS apps

Google released  Reply app last year to send automated response in messages and other apps, but it was later discontinued. Today, the company has updated its ML Kit SDK to add APIs for Smart Reply and Language Identification to third-party Android and iOS apps.

Apple Music subscription prices reduced in India, now at Rs. 99 per month

Apple Music was launched in India in 2015 with three plans namely the Individual plan, Family plan, and Student plan. It was priced at Rs.120 per month, Rs. 190 per month and Rs.60 per month respectively. But today, Apple has announced price cuts on its range of plans and now the price starts at Rs.99 per month.

A new Vivo smartphone with model numbers V1901A and V1901T has been certified by TENAA in China. This reveals a 6.35-inch HD+ waterdrop notch screen, 2.3GHz Octa-Core SoC which should be MediaTek Helio P35, 4GB RAM, Android Pie, triple rear cameras that includes a 13-megapixel main camera, 2-megapixel secondary camera for portrait shots and an 8-megapixel camera, which should be an ultra-wide lens. It also reveals a 16-megapixel front camera.

Lenovo K6 Enjoy Edition with 6.22-inch 19:9 waterdrop display, triple rear cameras, Android Pie announced

Lenovo has silently introduced K6 Enjoy Edition in the new K6 series. It has a 6.22-inch HD+ screen with 19:9 aspect ratio,  narrow bezels and 88% screen-to-body ratio, is powered by MediaTek’s latest Helio P22 Octa-Core 12nm SoC with 4GB RAM, runs Android Pie, has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash along with a 5-megapixel secondary camera for portrait shots and a third 8-megapixel telephoto lens. It has an 8-megapixel camera on the front, and comes with AI scene detection.

Samsung earnings guidance reveals 60% YoY profit drop in Q1 2019

Samsung today reported earnings guidance for the first quarter of 2019. After posting 28.7% decrease in profit in Q4 2018 due to weak chip and phone sales, the company said that it would improve sales and business performance this year. Earnings guidance released today reveals 6.2 trillion Korean won ($5.5 billion) operating profit for the quarter, down 60.2% from the 15.64 trillion won profit in the first quarter of 2018.

Update — April 5, 2019: Xiaomi has updated the list to clarify that it is the Redmi Note 4 MediaTek version that was launched in China and the Redmi, so the Indian Snapdragon variant that is called Redmi Note 4X in China will likely get updates. The Redmi 4 that has been dropped is also the Chinese version, so the India version was launched as Redmi 4X in China will likely get updates. Google Pixel 3 gets Dual SIM, Dual Standby support with Android Q Beta 2

Google started supporting eSIM feature on the Pixel 2 devices and the same was carried onto Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones. It was only Dual SIM, Single Standby (DSSS), but today, with the roll out of Android Q Beta 2, Google brings support for Dual SIM Dual Standby(DSDS) for Pixel 3 devices.
