Alcatel, the French company well known for its Enterprise level communications equipment is also responsible for some of the consumer facing devices in the One Touch range of Android Smartphones. After launching the One Touch Idol X, the flagship of the portfolio, the company has also released three other phones in all sizes and prices. The three new phones that have launched in the One Touch series are the Idol Alpha, the Idol S and the Idol Mini. This is along with the new Phablet and the Tablet from the same series.

Alcatel One Touch Idol X announced, 5-inch 1080p display in a 6.9mm thin titanium alloy frame

Alcatel One Touch has announced the One Touch Idol X, the company’s latest flagship smartphone. It has a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) 2.4mm edge-to-edge capacitive touch screen IPS display with 170 degrees wide viewing angles. The display is based on one-glass solution (OGS) that reduces the phone’s thickness and has Dragontrail Glass for protection. It is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 13.1-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 5cm macro lens, 1080p video recording and a 2-megapixel 1080p front-facing camera. Did Google just accidentally leak the LG Nexus 5?
Having announced the Google KitKat partnership for the next version of Android, the company released a video showing a celebratory installation of the new mascot in GooglePlex. This video might have looked normal at first, but keen eyes spotted a weird new device with the Nexus branding on the back. Could this be the unannounced Google Nexus 5? Also, if the logo is inspected at close, it looks to be made by LG. Unless our eyes fool us, this might actually be the upcoming Nexus 5 phone from Google, made by LG.

Nokia Lumia 1520 “Bandit” Screenshot reveals a cluttered GDR3 start screen
EVLeaks, the guy known for most leaks these days has revealed yet another interesting bit of information today, pertaining to the future of Windows Phone. On the day of the huge Microsoft-Nokia announcement, this leak comes as something to look forward to, but then after taking a single glance at it will be quite the opposite of a reaction. Yes, what you see above in the leaked image is an indirect confirmation of the existence of Nokia Lumia 1520 codenamed “bandit” and a quick look at the cluttered look of the Windows Phone GDR3’s 1080p supported start screen.

Oppo teases the 5.9 inch N1 for a September 23rd reveal

Oppo has been constantly teasing the officially confirmed N1, the first in the series of camera centric flagship devices from the Chinese manufacturer. This time, they have revealed that the device is going to sport a huge 5.9 inch screen, which negates the earlier leaked specifications that the device will sport a 5.5 inch display. They have also revealed the front wireframe, which looks remarkably similar to the earlier leaked images, confirming the authenticity of the leaks. It was revealed to have a back-side touch sensor to navigate in a completely different way, adding to the fact that it might sport a really good camera.

Nokia and Microsoft just ended their joint press conference, in an effort to explain the acquisition the companies announced earlier today. As with any major announcement, especially with a brand like Nokia which invokes a lot of emotion, the reactions were predictably…. emotional. Risto Siilasma probably said it best, at the joint Nokia press conference in Finland – The acquisition is “Rationally perfect, emotionally complicated.” which we wholeheartedly agree with. Microsoft and Nokia, what does it mean?
By now, you’ve likely read about Nokia’s Devices and Services division being acquired in a deal by Microsoft. You’ve also likely read about the movement of CEO Stephen Elop amongst others back to Redmond and Microsoft. What has been less clear is the fallout likely to come from this deal as well as the reasoning behind this acquisition.
Microsoft agrees deal to buy Nokia Devices and Services Division
In a deal that would surprise noone in it’s happening but everyone in it’s timing, Microsoft will be acquiring Nokia’s Devices and services division in addition to licensing a significant portion of Nokia’s patents in addition to their mapping services. The deal in it’s entirety amounts to 5.4 Billion Euros paid in cash, 3.79 Billion for devices and services 1.65 Billion for the associated patents.
The transaction will see 32,000 Nokia employees transitioned over to Microsoft including 4,700 in Finland and 18,300 employed in manufacturing positions worldwide. In addition, a significant number of senior executives are expected to be transferring to positions within Microsoft, including Stephen Elop, Jo Harlow, Juha Putkiranta, Timo Toikkanen, and Chris Weber.
This is an absolutely monumental transaction and will go a long way towards shaping the smartphone landscape for years to come. We will keep you updated with any details as we receive them.
Meizu MX3 with 5.1-inch 1080p display, octa-core Exynos 5 processor announced

Meizu has just announced the MX3 in China after several rumors. It is the successor of the MX2 that we reviewed recently. The MX3 has a 5.1-inch (1800 x 1080 pixels) IPS display with 415 PPI resolution, powered by a octa-core Exynos 5410 processor and runs on Flyme OS 3.0. It has a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, Sony Exmor RS BSI sensor, f/2.0 aperture and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. Karbonn A8 with 4-inch display, dual-core processor, Android 4.2 now available for Rs. 6189

Karbonn A8, the latest smartphone from Karbonn is now available from online retailer Saholic. It has a 4-inch WVGA (480×800 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 5-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED flash and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. It has Dual SIM support, 3G connectivity and packs a 1500 mAh battery. Micromax Canvas Fun A76, the first phone is the Canvas Fun series went on sale online couple of weeks back, now the Canvas Fun A74 is available from online retailers Snapdeal and Saholic. It has a 4.5-inch (480 x 854 pixels) TFT capacitive touch screen IPS display, powered by a 1.3 GHz dual-core MediaTek MT6572 processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. The Micromax Canvas Fun A63 has appeared on the official Micromax website. It has a 4-inch (480 x 800 pixels) TFT capacitive touch screen display and a 2-megapixel rear camera with LED flash. Other features are mostly similar to the Canvas Fun A74.
Motorola Moto X Unboxing

The Moto X is the all new Motorola phone designed and manufactured in the US and it is one first few phones to come out of a Motorola owned by Google. The Moto X was announced on Aug 1st after numerous leaks. The Moto X is currently on sale only in the US on AT&T and through Motorola’s MotoMaker website. It is not going to be available in India or any other market anytime soon, so we managed to get one from the US just for you guys because at the end of the day we love technology and think that great products should be available globally to anyone interested. Meizu MX3, the upcoming flagship phone from the Chinese smartphone manufacturer has leaked in real image for the first time. The leaked renders that surfaced were just concept images, and the new images from China looks more real.
