Samsung is preparing to expand its mid-range smartphone lineup in India with the upcoming launch of the Samsung Galaxy M47 5G as the successor to last year’s Galaxy M36 5G. A promotional teaser on Amazon reveals a familiar M-series tagline, “Next Level Monster.”
The development follows the recent appearance of the smartphone on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification website under the model number SM-M476B/DS, signaling that an official release is imminent.
The official promotional banner provides a clear glimpse into the aesthetic direction Samsung is taking with this iteration of the M-series, emphasizing a premium shift for its mid-range lineup. The teaser reveals a deep crimson/maroon variant. The back panel exhibits a dark matte finish, contrasting with the vibrant metallic red accents around the camera module and the outer frame edges.
The device sports a contemporary boxier frame with subtly rounded corners, departing from heavily curved sides. A distinct indentation on the right edge points to a side-mounted fingerprint sensor integrated into the power button.

Reports suggest the device will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage (expandable up to 1TB via a microSD card). The phone has also surfaced on the Geekbench listing, revealing the chip and RAM details. It also reveals that the phone will run Android 16 with One UI 8 on top.
The Samsung Galaxy M47 5G is projected to compete in the highly contested sub-Rs. 25,000 segment. The phone will be available from Amazon.in, in addition to Samsung India online store.
