It has 10.4-inch IPS display with a resolution of 2000 x 1200 pixels (WUXGA+), runs Magic UI 3.1 based on Android 10, has support for Magic-Pencil stylus that supports 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity. As the entire mobile devices experience a slow down in sales due to the COVID-19 pandemic, worldwide tablet shipments have taken an extra hard hit as the International Data Corporation (IDC) has reported that shipments have reduced to 24.6 million units which calculates to a decline of 18.1% YoY. Interestingly, the Detachables market saw a growth of 56.8% YoY, thanks to the popularity of iPadOS tablets.

It packs the same 10.8-inch QHD+ (2560 x 1600 pixels) 2.5D curved glass display with 90% screen-to-body ratio with 4.9mm slim frame, features 13-megapixel auto focus rear camera with PDAF, 8MP in-screen front camera, Quad-channel Quad speakers and a 7250mAh battery with 40W HUAWEI super fast charge, 15W wireless charging as well as 7.5w reverse charging to charge other devices on the back of the tablet, but this is powered by an Octa-Core Kirin 990 5G SoC and runs on Android 10 with EMUI 10 on top with Huawei Mobile Services (HMS). Samsung has announced Galaxy Tab S6 5G, which is the 5G version of the Galaxy Tab S6 that was introduced last year. It is powered by a Octa-Core Snapdragon 855 SoC with Qualcomm X50 5G modem. Other specifications are similar including a 10.5-inch Super AMOLED WQXGA screen, quad-stereo speakers tuned by AKG by HARMAN, in-display fingerprint scanner, 8-megapixel primary camera along with a 5-megapixel 123-degree ultra-wide camera and an 8-megapixel front camera. It has a 13-megapixel auto focus rear camera with PDAF and an 8MP in-screen front camera. It comes with Quad-channel Quad speakers, Huawei Histen sound support, are Harman Kardon audio certified.

After leaks, HUAWEI CEO Richard Yu has confirmed that the company will introduce the Mate Pad tablet series at an event in Shanghai, China on November 25th. Image of the MatePad Pro tablet that surfaced recently revealed a punch-hole screen, stylus support and a keyboard accessory. There could be normal and Pro versions of the tablet. The International Data Corporation (IDC) has reported that tablet shipments for Q3 2019 worldwide have seen growth with 37.6 million units shipped globally, resulting in a year-on-year growth of 1.9%. The top five companies that shipped tablets are Apple, Amazon.com, Samsung, Huawei and Lenovo.

Apple at its special event announced its seventh-generation iPad with a larger 10.2-inch Retina Display. It has support for the full-sized Smart Keyboard, Apple Pencil support, A10 Fusion chip, advanced cameras and sensors. It features an enclosure made from 100 percent recycled aluminum with the same strength, durability and finish as the aluminum in all Apple products. The LTE version has Gigabit-class LTE connectivity. It still has Touch ID below the display.

Lenovo has introduced new Tab M7 and Tab M8, two new tablets in the M series ahead of IFA 2019 next week. The Tab M7 has a 7-inch WSVGA screen and the Tab M8 comes in HD and Full HD options. These have built-in Kid’s Mode 3.0 that offers rich and customized kids’ content for children under 12 years of age. “Kids who pick up the tablet will be switched directly to their kids’ account, which features a child-friendly interface with access to games, built-in applications, videos, audio and books that offer educational content in 44 languages,” said the company.
