Samsung and Apple are the leading Smartphone vendors by shipments in Q4 2012 and for the whole 2012, according to a report by Research Firm IDC (International Data Corporation). The worldwide mobile phone market grew 1.9% year-over-year in the Q4 2012 with shipments of 482.5 million, compared to 473.4 million units in the Q4 2011. Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 shows up in the wild
dday.it, an Italian site has managed to get their hands on the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 ahead of the MWC. First specifications of the Note 8.0 (GT-N5100) surfaced last week, and the Samsung CEO confirmed the Galaxy Note 8.0 for MWC 2013, earlier this week. The device in these grainy hands on images resembles the image that surfaced couple of days back, but this has a hardware home button, capacitive touch buttons for menu and back on either sides, similar to the Galaxy S3. Even this has a ear piece at the top, but the Samsung logo is present blow the ear piece instead of bottom. It would also have S Pen support according to previous rumors. Samsung has started rolling out Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) update for the international version of the Galaxy S2 (GT-I9100) starting from Spain. Samsung is rolling out the Android 4.1.2 update for the S2 directly, skipping the Android 4.1.1 that rolled out for the Galaxy S3 back in September starting from Poland, and rolled out in India in November. Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 image surface, confirmed for MWC
First image of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 has surfaced online, specifications of the Note 8.0 (GT-N5100) surfaced last week. Samsung CEO JK Shin confirmed the Galaxy Note 8.0 for MWC 2013 unveiling yesterday. According to this image, Note 8.0 looks like an enlarged version of the Galaxy S3, which differs from the design of the Galaxy Note 10.1. It would include the S Pen stylus support similar to the Galaxy Note 10.1 (Note 800) and would also have a ear piece for voice calling, similar to the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 (Tab 2 310). At the launch event, Samsung announced that the Grand would come with Premium Flip Cover in the box and 2GB free data per month for Vodafone customers, valid for 2 months from the date of activation as an introductory offer. Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 (GT-N5100) specs surface, might be announced at MWC
Samsung GT-N5100 that was spotted in GLBenchmark website last month has got a name. According to SamMobile, Samsung is planning to unveil the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 (GT-N5100) at MWC 2013 next month. It would have a 8.0-inch (1280 × 800 pixels) TFT Super Clear LCD display and run on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It would come with a 5MP rear camera and a 1.3MP front-facing camera.

Samsung Galaxy Pocket Plus (GT-S5301), successor of the Galaxy Pocket has surfaced online along with the complete specs. The design looks similar to the Galaxy Pocket. According to SamMobile, it would have similar features including a 2.8-inch QVGA capacitive touch screen display, 2 megapixel camera and a 1200 mAh battery. It would run on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). Samsung announced the Galaxy Pocket in March last year, that launched in India in April.
