Samsung had big plans for its yesteryear flagships – Samsung Galaxy S3 and Samsung Galaxy Note 2 when it announced that both phones will be skipping Android 4.2.2 update and will be directly updated to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. The big plan seemed to go well for the South Korean electronics giant as it released the Android 4.3 update for Galaxy S3 right on time, but only to be halted later because of performance issues.
Earlier this month Samsung started rolling out the Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) update for the Galaxy S3, directly from Android 4.1.2, skipping the Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) update. Few week after the roll out, Samsung has temporarily suspended the roll out globally to investigate software issues, reports SamMobile. This update bring Galaxy Gear support, improved Samsung Keyboard, new GPU drivers, New S-Voice (from Galaxy S4) and lots. According to the report Samsung would also introduce KNOX security feature for the phone, when they resumes the roll out. Samsung Galaxy S3 has got a price cut in India, and is available for Rs. 34900 from select online retailers in India. TheGalaxy S3 was launched in India in May for a MRP of Rs. 43,180, and the Garnet Red version went on sale last week for a MOP of Rs. 37,500. The Galaxy S3 price is now on-par with the HTC One X . Samsung has announced that the Galaxy S3 would be available in new range of colors, Amber Brown, Garnet Red, Sapphire Black and Titanium Grey, globally. The Red Galaxy S3 was exclusively launched for AT&T in July and it was spotted in Germany last week. Samsung has launched the Galaxy S III in India. Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S III earlier this month at an Event in London and the pre-booking started in India on Samsung eStore couple of weeks back. The Galaxy S III packs in 4.8 inch (720 x 1280 pixels) Super AMOLED display, 1.4GHz Quad-Core processor and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). Samsung has officially announced that it has launched the Galaxy S3 in 28 countries today in Europe, Middle East and Africa including, United Kingdom, France, UAE and Saudi Arabia. They plan to launch in a total of 145 countries across 296 carriers by July. This is more than that of the previous Galaxy S series phones. The Galaxy S was launched in 112 countries with 175 operators and the Galaxy S2 was launched in 135 countries with 210 operators.
