Samsung Galaxy S2 Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update starts rolling out

Samsung has started rolling out Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) update for the international version of the Galaxy S2 (GT-I9100) starting from Spain. Samsung is rolling out the Android 4.1.2 update for the S2 directly, skipping the Android 4.1.1 that rolled out for the Galaxy S3 back in September starting from Poland, and rolled out in India in November. Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 image surface, confirmed for MWC

First image of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 has surfaced online, specifications of the Note 8.0 (GT-N5100) surfaced last week. Samsung CEO JK Shin confirmed the Galaxy Note 8.0 for MWC 2013 unveiling yesterday. According to this image, Note 8.0 looks like an enlarged version of the Galaxy S3, which differs from the design of the Galaxy Note 10.1. It would include the S Pen stylus support similar to the Galaxy Note 10.1 (Note 800) and would also have a ear piece for voice calling, similar to the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 (Tab 2 310). Samsung to offer free flip cover, 2GB data and more with Galaxy Grand

Samsung launched the Galaxy Grand (GT-I9082) in India today at Rs. 21,500 (MRP). At the launch event, Samsung announced that the Grand would come with Premium Flip Cover in the box and 2GB free data per month for Vodafone customers, valid for 2 months from the date of activation as an introductory offer. Consumers who purchase the phone can also download Music and Stream Movies through ‘My Series’ which has range of  services including myMovies, myMusic , myMobileTV , myStation, myReader and myEducation. Samsung Galaxy Grand hands-on

Samsung launched the Galaxy Grand (GT-I9082) in India today, and we got some hands-on time with the device. The Galaxy Grand has a 5-inch (800 x 480 Pixels) capacitive touch screen display, which is bright. Samsung Galaxy Grand with 5 inch display, Dual SIM and Android 4.1 JellyBean launched at Rs.21500

Samsung has launched the Galaxy Grand in India at a launch event in Delhi. The Galaxy Grand packs a really big 5 inch display and is powered by a 1.2 GHz Dual Core Processor. If you notice in the above photo , you can find the Duos branding on the top right of the phone which is found on Samsung’s Dual SIM devices. The Galaxy Grand does offer Dual SIM functionality and Samsung is calling it Smart Dual SIM. The Galaxy Grand has been priced at Rs.21500 MRP

Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 (GT-N5100) specs surface, might be announced at MWC

Samsung GT-N5100 that was spotted in GLBenchmark website last month has got a name. According to SamMobile, Samsung is planning to unveil the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 (GT-N5100) at MWC 2013 next month. It would have a 8.0-inch (1280 × 800 pixels) TFT Super Clear LCD display and run on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It would come with a 5MP rear camera and a 1.3MP front-facing camera.

Samsung Galaxy Pocket Plus with Android 4.0 image and specs surface

Samsung Galaxy Pocket Plus (GT-S5301), successor of the Galaxy Pocket has surfaced online along with the complete specs. The design looks similar to the Galaxy Pocket. According to SamMobile, it would have similar features including a 2.8-inch QVGA capacitive touch screen display, 2 megapixel camera and a 1200 mAh battery. It would run on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). Samsung announced the Galaxy Pocket in March last year, that launched in India in April. Exynos 5 Octa by Samsung reportedly features PowerVR SGX 544MP3

Samsung announced this CES the Exynos 5 Octa which has 4 ARM Cortex A15 cores and 4 ARM Cortex A7 cores for power management with whats called as Big little configuration. Now Samsung is known to boast their GPUs, but during their Octa announcement, they did not talk about the GPU they were using and Anandtech is now reporting that Samsung is using the PowerVR SGX 544MP3 GPU at 533 MHz.

Samsung Galaxy S series smartphone sales surpass 100 million units globally

Samsung has announced that the combined sales (supply chain) of the Samsung Galaxy S, the Galaxy S2 and the Galaxy S3 has crossed 100 million globally. The combined sales of the Samsung Galaxy S and Galaxy S2 crossed 50 million back in June 2012. The Samsung Galaxy S was introduced back in May 2010, and it took 2 years and 7 months for the S series phones to reach 100 million sales mark.
