Nokia makes walk and drive navigation free on its smartphones, doubling size of mobile navigation market

Espoo, Finland – Nokia has today announced plans to release a new version of Ovi Maps for its smartphones that includes high-end walk and drive navigation at no extra cost, available for download at www.nokia.com/maps. This move has the potential to nearly double the size of the current mobile navigation market. The new version of Ovi Maps includes high-end car and pedestrian navigation features, such as turn-by-turn voice guidance for 74 countries, in 46 languages, and traffic information for more than 10 countries, as well as detailed maps for more than 180 countries.

Nokia to Offer Free Turn By Turn Navigation

In late 2009, Google announced that it would be giving free navigation on the Motorola DROID/MILESTONE in the North American region.

Download Skyfire 1.5 for Symbian S60 v3 and v5 phones

Skyfire just released an updated version of their browser for Symbian phones. You can download the version  1.5 of the Skyfire browser for both S60 v3 phones and S60 v5 touch phones. After the very successful Corby Series of Phone, Samsung has now launched a new series of Handsets called as “Shark” Series.

At the start, Samsung has launched 3 devices namely the Samsung Shark S3550, Shark S5350 and Shark S5550.

Samsung Shark S3550 is a slider device which features a 2″ QVGA Screen, inbuilt social networking apps, 2 megapixel camera, and support for Bluetooth 2.1, USB 2.0 and an expandable microSD memory card slot of 8GB memory.
