Inseego Corp and Verizon demonstrated Virtual Reality Telemedicine over 5G at Qualcomm Snapdragon Technology Summit. Both the companies have conducted a live virtual reality telemedicine demonstration in partnership with Columbia University using an Inseego mobile hotspot device that is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Mobile Platform and Snapdragon X50 5G modem and antenna modules with integrated RF transceiver, RF front-end, and antenna elements, running on Verizon’s 5G NR mobile network. Samsung and Verizon demonstrate 5G data transmission using 400MHz of mmWave spectrum

Samsung, Qualcomm, and Verizon have announced a successful 5G New Radio (NR) data connection using 400MHz of bandwidth in the 28GHz spectrum, resulting in maximum throughput of more than 1.7 Gbps. The data connection demonstrated the delivery of multi-gigabit 5G speeds to a smartphone form-factor mobile test device. Samsung, Verizon team up to bring first commercial 5G smartphone early 2019

Verizon and Samsung announced that they will bring the first commercial 5G smartphone to the market in the first half of 2019. The companies will unveil a proof of concept, powered by the upcoming flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon Mobile Platform with the Snapdragon X50 5G NR modem and antenna modules with integrated RF transceiver, RF front-end, and antenna elements, at the annual Qualcomm Snapdragon Technology Summit later this week. Verizon 5G Home will initially be available in parts of Houston, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, and Sacramento. It is built on Verizon’s Ultra-Wideband 5G network. RED, popular for its high-end cameras back in July last year had introduced the RED HYDROGEN ONE. Though the initial launch date was Q1 2018, after delaying it for a while, the phone is finally coming to AT&T and Verizon in the USA and Telcel in Mexico in August. Today both the companies have announced that they have agreed to reduce the price Verizon will pay to acquire Yahoo’s operating business by $350 million. Verizon’s acquisition of Yahoo is now valued at approximately $4.48 billion in cash. U.S operator Verizon today announced “Verizon Unlimited” that offers unlimited data, calling and texting (to Mexico and Canada) and up to 500 MB/day of 4G LTE roaming (in Mexico and Canada) at $80 per month for individual line or $45 per line for four lines with unlimited data, talk and text.
