FoneArena is at IFA 2013 in Berlin , Germany where a lot of new products are going to announced including the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and the Sony XPERIA Z1. You are going to see a lot of content from IFA on both our main blog and the tech blog throughout this week as we are working hard to bring you the best news from Berlin. Samsung, Sony , Asus , Acer, Panasonic, Canon are some of the companies expected to launch new products at at the show.We are going to be live blogging some key product launches so do stay tuned to our blog. Motorola Moto X Unboxing

The Moto X is the all new Motorola phone designed and manufactured in the US and it is one first few phones to come out of a Motorola owned by Google. The Moto X was announced on Aug 1st after numerous leaks. The Moto X is currently on sale only in the US on AT&T and through Motorola’s MotoMaker website. It is not going to be available in India or any other market anytime soon, so we managed to get one from the US just for you guys because at the end of the day we love technology and think that great products should be available globally to anyone interested. So presenting the Motorola Moto X Unboxing , probably one of the first unboxings of this device from outside the US and pretty much the first in India !

LG G Pad 8.3 announced with Full HD display, Snapdragon 600 processor

LG had been teasing an upcoming tablet known as the G Pad 8.3 and today in Seoul , the company has finally taken the wraps of the LG G Pad 8.3 Android tablet and it does look like the big brother of the LG G2 smartphone which debuted recently. The GPad will be showcased at IFA 2013 in Berlin this week and true to its name it packs a 8.3 inch display with a massive 1920×1200 resolution similar to the resolution of the screen on the new Nexus 7 2013. On the inside it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 Quadcore Processor running at 1.7GHz. LG has managed to pack a 4600 mAh battery into this device which is only about 8.3 mm thick and still weighs only about 338 grams. It runs on Android 4.2.2

Nokia Lumia 1020 Unboxing, AT&T Unlocked Version

The Nokia Lumia 1020 just arrived at FoneArena today and guess what, we managed to get hold of a unlocked unit from a US retailer. The device is currently exclusive sold only on AT&T in USA and Nokia is yet to launch the SIM-free/unlocked version in USA or any other market but how can you get one ? Read on to find out. This is indeed the Lumia 1020 for AT&T with the carrier branding but the good thing is it can accept any GSM SIM card, be it T-Mobile, Airtel or Vodafone. This supports LTE on AT&T but would work over 3G, HSPA in many countries including India. The device has evolved from the 808 PureView which was running on Symbian and subsequently the Lumia 920 which was one of the first Windows phones with a PureView camera. Today we have a combination of the best of the imaging from the 808 and 920, improved leaps and bounds, and delivered in the form of the Lumia 1020. LG launched the G2 their latest flagship Android phone today in New York City in USA. Andre from our US team was there at this launch event and got us these photos of the G2 just for FoneArena readers. The design of the G2 is the worst kept secret and has been leaked a zillion times but then this is the final real device which was announced today.The display is a gorgeous 5.2 inch full HD IPS screen with a very small bezel and there are no physical keys on the front and the Android keys are on screen like on the Nexus 4. You can now send Voice Messages on WhatsApp

WhatsApp has added an interesting new feature to the service in the form of push-to-talk Voice Messaging. You can send and receive voice messages with your contacts on WhatsApp for free.Users must start seeing a microphone icon next to the text input area and you can press and record your voice message and send it. You can play the messages too once they are sent.I’m wondering how operators would react to this considering this might have an impact on traditional calls. New Nexus 7 2013 Unboxing

The all the new Nexus 7 2013 edition just landed at FoneArena and we thought we will bring you one of the first unboxings from India.The new Nexus 7 is priced at $229 and has gone on sale in the US and is expected to come soon to India but not in the immediate future.Like the previous Nexus 7 , this tablet is also manufactured by Asus for Google and sold by Google directly.The main highlights of the 2013 Nexus 7 are the design including the massive Full HD display and the change from a Nvidia Tegra 3 processor to a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor. This Nexus 7 is the first Android device to ship with Android 4.3 JellyBean out of the box which is now also available for several other devices.

Google Chromecast Unboxing and Demo

Google launched the Chromecast last week and we already managed to get hold of this interesting device on FoneArena. So what does a Chromecast do ? It is basically a dongle for your TV which lets you watch online video and more on your large screen TV. You can watch Youtube , Netflix , Google Play movies and your Chrome brower tab on your large screen TV using this tiny little dongle which connects to it using the standard HDMI socket.Most modern TVs would draw power from the HDMI itself but certain older ones like mine would require external power. Nice that Google has decided to include a HDMI extender and also a power solution in the box. Watch the unboxing and a short demo in the video below

Apple iPhone 5C packaging spotted , is this the cheap iPhone ? May be in multiple colours !

In a fresh leak regarding the rumored cheaper iPhone , a chinese site WeiPhone has got hold of what looks like a tub full of iPhone 5C boxes. Would the cheaper iPhone be known as the iPhone 5 C? One high possibility is Apple brings Colour to the iPhone doing away with just black and while like it did with the iPod recently.This can be fake but would take weeks or even month to fake it so this could very well be the real deal considering we are closing in on the September/October time frame for the new iPhone unveiling. The packaging seems similar to the one used in newest iPod touches and considering this a cheaper iPhone , it would be fair to bet that Apple wants to spend as little as possible on the box.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition Unboxing

I was in New York city recently for an event and managed to get hold of the recently launched Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition for unboxing as I’m a huge fan of devices running stock Android and the Galaxy S4 has some great internals and a full HD Super AMOLED display. Samsung’s TouchWiz UI on top on Android does offer some useful features but it does come at a cost in terms of free space on the device and

New Nexus 7 announced with Full HD display, Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU and Wireless Charging starting from $229

Google announced the new Nexus 7 today at an event in San Francisco where the updated Nexus 7 tablet was one of the main highlights of the event. We have seen plenty of leaks of this device including an unboxing so not much was left for the official announcement except for the confirmation of the specs , the pricing and launch date. The biggest difference on this Nexus tablet is the update Full HD screen which makes it the highest resolution screen on a 7 inch tablet and also crushes the competition especially the iPad mini. It is the first tablet to run Android 4.3 out of the box which we have covered separately. The new Nexus 7 is marginally thinner than the first gen Nexus 7 and lighter too. It is slightly narrower than the previous model. Another big change is the move from Nvidia Tegra 3 to a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor in terms of the internals. And yes it is still made by Asus. Android 4.3 Jelly Bean announced , arriving on Nexus 4 , Nexus 7, Nexus 10 and Galaxy Nexus today

The much expected Android 4.3 update to the Android mobile operating system which has been leaked several times in the past few days has finally been officially announced at a Google event in San Francisco few hours ago. The new Nexus 7 or the 2nd generation Nexus 7 tablet which is shipping on July 30th will be the first device to ship with Android 4.3 out of the box. The main highlights of this Android update are Restricted Profiles , Bluetooth 4.0 low energy support , OpenGL ES 3.0 support and addition of several APIs for developers. New Google Nexus 7 press image leaks ahead of announcement

The leaker @evleaks in back again with a press shot of the upcoming redesigned Google Nexus 7 made by Asus. The new Nexus 7 looks a lot thinner from the image but it is very hard to tell from the angle. You can see the front with the display with the onscreen buttons like on the current Nexus 7. On the rear you can see a relatively larger camera along with the Nexus branding. This is not the first time we are hearing about this product and it was leaked a lot in recent times.
