Reliance Communications RCOM announced today that it would offer the Apple iPhone 5C and iPhone 5C on the Reliance 3G network starting from November 1st. Apple had announced few days back that it is launching the iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s in India and this news from Indian operators does not come as a surprise.The iPhone 5S is powered by a 64-bit processor and packs a better camera and a TouchID fingerprint sensor. The iPhone 5C is just the iPhone 5 wrapped in a colorful plastic shell but is priced slightly below the iPhone 5s.

Airtel to offer Apple iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S in India

India’s leading mobile operator Bharti Airtel just announced that it would offer the Apple iPhone 5S and 5C on the Airtel network starting from November 1st. This news comes after Apple announced that it was indeed launching the new iPhone in India on November 1st. Reliance Communications also announced that it going to offer the new iPhones on its network. Historically Apple has launched the iPhone on Airtel and Vodafone and Aircel made it to the list recently. Reliance is the new addition this year.

Apple iPhone 5C and 5S launching in India on Nov 1st

Apple has just confirmed in a global announcement that the iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S are launching in India and several other countries on Friday November 1st. What comes as a surprise is that India and Mexico get a pretty prominent mention in the press release.Pricing info is still not revealed but we are expecting the 5S  to be priced very similar to the iPhone 5 launch pricing at around Rs.45000.The 5C should be priced at around the Rs.35000 mark.The main highlights iPhone 5S include the  new TouchID fingerprint scanner , improved camera , faster internals and some new colours including the Gold and Space Grey colors. Amazon now shipping Chromecast to India and other countries outside USA

If you were looking to get hold of the Google Chromecast which went on sale few months back , we have some good news for you. Initially this device was on sale only in the US and available only through Google Play , Amazon , Best Buy and few other retailers in the US for about $35. Now Amazon is shipping the device even to India and it works out to roughly $53 including shipping charges and import duty. Pretty good deal if you are looking to get yourself a Chromecast. We already brought you an Chromecast unboxing and demo of this interesting device. We even have a review up in case you want to find out if the device is worth your money.

After all the hype surrounding the golden iPhone , we are always on the look out for golden phones.If you have been following us closely , you must have read about the Samsung Galaxy Golden  which was launched in South Korea back in August. It is an interesting flip phone running Android and features dual 3.7 inch WVGA AMOLED displays , one on the inside and one on the outside.  The phone goes by the model number SHV-E400S in case you are planning to get your hands on one. Sadly no video but we have plenty of photos of the phone and the retail box for your viewing pleasure.

BBM for iPhone is here! Yes, for real. Here are some screenshots of BBM or BlackBerry Messenger running on an Apple iPhone 5 with iOS7.  BlackBerry announced few months back that it was bringing the BlackBerry Messenger service to iOS and Android and has kept its promise. The app is a free 30MB download which has gone live on the New Zealand iTunes app store as of now. It would be going live on the Indian App Store later today and will be available worldwide. You can either use your existing BlackBerryID (If you were using a BlackBerry device in the past) or create a new one. You need to verify the associated email account to get things working. BlackBerry has finally unveiled their first large screen BlackBerry 10 smartphone the BlackBerry Z30. The main highlight of the Z30  is the 5 inch SuperAMOLED display and it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro dual core CPU. It also runs on the latest version of the BlackBerry 10.2 and it features the largest battery ever in a Blackberry device rated at 2880mAh which could deliver over 25 hours of usage.

Qualcomm Toq Smartwatch with Mirasol Display Hands On

Qualcomm announced its own smartwatch known as the Toq at its annual developer conference UPLINQ 2013 in San Diego just before IFA 2013 in Berlin and we were lucky enough to meet folks from Qualcomm at IFA including Rob Chandok who is President of Qualcomm Internet Services and SVP of Qualcomm Technologies. We were indeed surprised that we could get our hands on the Toq Smartwatch. This Smartwatch seems pretty interesting compared to other similar products like the Samsung Galaxy Gear and Sony SmartWatch 2. Qualcomm has been working on the product for over 2 years and this is evident from the build quality and design of the product. Feels very premium and thought out. The best part is the Mirasol display which translates to great battery life and sun light visibility. Watch our hands on video below –

Google Glass Hands On – The future of wearable computing is here!

As you all know , the FoneArena team was IFA 2013 bringing you tons of content from the German capital Berlin.Just when we thought IFA2013 was coming to an end and we had to pack our bags to fly back home, we got a chance to try out Google Glass and hence we managed to record a demo too! If you are excited about wearable gadgets like smart watches , Google Glass is certainly going to impress you. Glass was launched almost a year ago at Google I/O and is still not available to the general public and it is selectively available only in the US to a hand picked set of developers and partners. So we were super lucky to get hold of one thanks to our friends over at AndroidWorld.it who let us play with their unit. Check out our hands on demo below!

I was in Berlin, Germany for IFA 2013 last week and managed to pick an LTE version of the Nexus 7 2013 which is currently on sale only in a few countries including Germany and UK. We had already unboxed the WiFi only version previous on FoneArena and like always we are always excited about any device with a SIM card slot and here we have the unboxing of the Nexus 7 2013 LTE version.

We covered the launch of the LG G2 in New York just a few weeks back and and this fully loaded smartphone is about to go on sale in the US and several other markets soon. We managed to grab one just in time for  a quick unboxing.  The G2 is one of the first phones to be powered by the blazing fast Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor like the Sony XPERIA Z Ultra. LG has done away with all buttons on the front and the sides of the phone and decided to put them on the back for easy access.How do the volume keys and power button look on the back of a phone ? Acer Liquid S1 vs Liquid S2

Acer unveiled the Liquid S2, successor of the Liquid S1 and the company’s latest flagship smartphone ahead of IFA 2013, earlier this week.We managed to compare these two devices at the event. The difference in terms on specifications between these devices are huge. The Liquid S1 has a 5.7-inch 720p HD screen, while the Liquid S2 has a 6-inch (1920 x 1080) Full HD IPS display with curved Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The Liquid S1 has a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor MediaTek 6589T chip, while the S2 comes with a 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor. Both the devices run on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean).

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Hands On

We were live blogging the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 launch event from Berlin and we did manage to get our hands on the device.It does look slightly different from the previous generation Galaxy Note 2 in terms of the design and features.It has a larger 5.7 inch display and feels pretty nice to hold in hand thanks to the new textured back which is not a fingerprint magnet.The back cover is still removable.It supports LTE globally on every network according to Samsung.It also supports Ultra HD or 4K video capture which is pretty new to phones. It weighs 168grams and is about 8.33 m thick and the iconic stylus or S-pen is still part of the package.
