Samsung 2027 Odyssey OLED G9, G8, G7 and G6 gaming monitors announced

Samsung has announced its 2027 Odyssey gaming monitor lineup at Gamescom 2026, being held in Cologne, Germany from August 26 to 30. The lineup includes the Odyssey OLED G9 (G95SJ), OLED G8 (G80SJ), OLED G7 (G75SJ) and Odyssey G6 (G60H), with different screen sizes, resolutions, refresh rates and display modes.

Odyssey OLED G9

The Odyssey OLED G9 (G95SJ) is a 49-inch DQHD gaming monitor with a 360Hz refresh rate and is the world’s first 49-inch DQHD gaming monitor with a 360Hz refresh rate, according to Samsung. It uses a fifth-generation QD-OLED panel with Penta Tandem technology and a five-layer structure that is up to 1.3 times more efficient and offers up to twice the lifetime of the previous generation.

The monitor also uses an RGB Stripe sub-pixel layout to reduce color fringing and support clearer text. It has a peak brightness of up to 1,300 nits on a 3% window at 4K resolution and a 0.03ms GtG response time.

Its Dual Mode supports:

  • DQHD (5120 × 1440) at 360Hz
  • Dual HD (2560 × 720) at up to 720Hz
Odyssey OLED G8

The Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SJ) is a 32-inch UHD OLED gaming monitor with a fifth-generation QD-OLED panel, Penta Tandem technology and RGB Stripe subpixels. It supports up to 360Hz and Triple Mode with three configurations:

  • UHD at 360Hz
  • QHD at 520Hz
  • FHD at 680Hz

The monitor has a 0.03ms GtG response time, VESA DisplayHDR TrueBlack 600, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible support. Samsung Glare Free technology uses a film that is 54% less glossy than conventional anti-reflection film to reduce external reflections.

Connectivity includes one DisplayPort 2.1 UHBR20 port, two HDMI ports, one USB-C port with 98W Power Delivery, a USB hub with two downstream ports and KVM support.

Odyssey OLED G7

The Odyssey OLED G7 (G75SJ) is a 42-inch 16:9 curved OLED gaming monitor and is the world’s first 42-inch 16:9 curved OLED gaming monitor, according to Samsung. Its screen area is approximately 72% larger than the previous 32-inch model.

It features 1000R curvature with a 1,000mm radius, 4K OLED resolution, a 165Hz refresh rate and a 0.03ms GtG response time. Samsung says the curved display brings the edges closer to the player’s line of sight and positions the monitor for RPG and open-world games. It also features Glare Free technology to reduce reflections from external light sources.

Odyssey G6

The 27-inch Odyssey G6 (G60H) uses a Fast IPS panel with a 1ms response time and supports Dual Mode with:

  • HD at up to 1,100Hz
  • QHD at up to 600Hz

Samsung claims it is the world’s first 1,100Hz gaming monitor. The final specification increases the refresh rate from the model introduced at CES 2026, reaching up to 1,100Hz in HD and 600Hz in QHD.

Gamescom showcase and demonstrations

Samsung will present the 2027 Odyssey lineup at its Gamescom 2026 session, “#PlaySamsung: The Next Era of Gaming Displays,” at 10:30 a.m. CET on August 27. The OLED G9 and G7 will be unveiled on stage, while the OLED G8 and G6 will be introduced on-screen. The session will cover screen size, resolution, refresh rate and display modes across different games and play styles.

The showcase will also cover:

  • HDR10+ GAMING: Samsung’s partnership with Activision Blizzard for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. The technology helps compatible Odyssey monitors and Samsung displays reproduce game color and contrast closer to the creative intent. Samsung plans to expand the ecosystem to more than 20 AAA titles by the first half of 2027.
  • Odyssey 3D: New supported titles include Cyberpunk 2077 and Cronos: The New Dawn. The support is developed through direct collaboration with game studios and adds depth and spatial perspective to games.
Availability

Samsung said availability of the 2027 Odyssey lineup will vary by market, with launch timing and pricing to be announced at a later date. The Odyssey G6 will be available globally in the second half of 2026.

Speaking on the launch, Hun Lee, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display (VD) Business at Samsung Electronics, said:

Players come to Gamescom to discover what is next, try new games, and experience the technology they need to stay focused and compete at their best. With new form factors, higher refresh rates, and advanced display technologies, the 2027 Odyssey lineup gives players more choice across competitive play, cinematic games, and multi-purpose setups.
