Apple had introduced the original iPad Mini without the RETINA display and that pretty much confirmed that the second generation of Apple iPad Mini would come with the RETINA display. As expected, Apple crammed a high resolution display(same resolution as the iPad Air) into the second generation iPad Mini which Apple calls – iPad Mini with Retina Display. In addition to sporting a high resolution display, the iPad Mini competes with Apple’s iPad Air in terms of specifications. Apple is using the same processing power inside each of its flagship iOS device – iPhone 5s, iPad Air and iPad Mini with Retina Display.

iPad Air and iPad mini with retina display are Apple’s latest generation iPads. The bigger of the two – iPad Air was redesigned to be lighter, thinner and smaller than its predecessor while the smaller among the two – iPad mini with Retina display was muscled up with a better display and a much better processor making it slightly bigger and heavier. With this contradictory approach to the new generation iPads, Apple has achieved a subtle balance between its two iPads.

Google and Apple haven’t really considered India as a potential market in the previous years, but things are changing pretty soon as all the products are arriving pretty soon in India. Google launched the latest Nexus 7 2013 sometime in July and the product has been available in India for nearly a month. On the other hand, the iPad mini with Retina display has been just launched. At last the wait for the next generation iPads to launch in India is over. Apple has today introduced the iPad Air as well as the iPad Mini with Retina display here in the country. The tablets will be officially unveiled at an event later today however the prices are already available. In contrast to the previous generation, the iPad Mini and full size iPad are almost at par in terms of specifications with the key difference being the screen size difference.
