10,000 YU YUREKA units to go on sale on Jan 13th, receives over 3 lakh registrations

Micromax’s YU plans to sell 10,000 units of YUREKA smartphones on its first flash sale on January 13th, tomorrow at 2PM on Amazon.in, according to a report from PTI (via ET). The company has received over three lakh registrations for the smartphone, and it had to close the registration a day before the actual date of December 25th due to tremendous response, said Micromax co-founder Rahul Sharma to PTI. Samsung has official announced the Galaxy A7, the company’s latest smartphone in the A series with a metal unibody design and 6.3mm thickness. It has a 5.5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC in the dual SIM variant and the single SIM LTE variant is powered by s Exynos 5430 SoC. Even the dual SIM Snapdragon variant comes with LTE support depending on the market. It runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with Samsung’s own UI on top. EE now has 7.7m 4G customers, 80% UK coverage

EE this morning announced that it has signed up 7.7 million 4G customers as it continues the rollout of its 4G network to towns and cities across the UK. The figures show that EE managed to increase its subscriber base by 5.7 million customers since the beginning of 2014 and its rollout continued with 210 new major towns and cities added in Q4 2014. Prices for content and applications in Apple’s App Store in the UK and Europe are to rise this week as Apple compensates for currency fluctuations and changes in taxation rates.
