Samsung has announced that it is joining hands with Arqiva, communications infrastructure and media services provider to conduct the United Kingdom’s first 5G trials with a focus on Fixed Wireless Access. The trial is set to take place in the second half of 2017 in London and will involve the deployment of an end-to-end 5G FWA solution network in the city centre, operating in the 28 GHz band. Microsoft announced the Lumia 650 smartphone running Windows 10 earlier this week, now it has officially started selling the smartphone, as it had promised. To remind you, the Lumia 650 packs a 5-inch HD AMOLED ClearBlack display, is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 212 processor, has a 8-megapixel auto focus camera with LED flash, 5-megapixel front-facing camera, 4G LTE connectivity and a 6.9mm slim metal frame.
Sony introduced the Xperia Z5, its flagship smartphone at IFA earlier this month. The Xperia Z5 was outed in a promotional material for upcoming James Bond film Spectre back in July. Sony was planning to launch the XPERIA Z4 Tablet today in the UK. But now it has pushed the launch date back to June 17th.
Motorola is planning to offer discounts on its popular devices for a span of 48 hours in the UK. The devices that will be available at a discounted rate are the Moto X, Nexus 6 and the Moto 360 smartwatch.
Amazon had released the Fire Phone back in June last year at a price of US$ 640 off contract in the USA. In the UK however the handset was priced at £400 for the 32GB variant and £479 for the 64GB at launch. Now the Fire Phone has received a temporary price drop in the UK.
Samsung has announced that both the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge smartphones would be available for pre-order in the UK from 20th March 2015, ahead of the on-sale date of 10th April 2015. Honor today announced the Honor 4X smartphone for UK. Huawei introduced the Honor 4X smartphone in China last year. This has the same 5.5-inch HD display, runs on Android 4.4 (Kitkat) with Emotion UI 3.0, has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, 2GB RAM and 8GB internal memory with expansion slot, but the main difference is the processor. Three UK has announced that it has singed a deal with Honor to sell the Honor 6+ smartphone in the UK. Honor 6+ is the first device that Three will range and it will create bespoke tariffs for the smartphone, enabling consumers to purchase it on a 24 month contract for the first time in the UK, said the company.
