Apple has started 2015 with a bang as the company announced it broke its own record for weekly App Store sales in the first week of the year. As noted by Street Insider, Apple sold nearly $500 million worth of apps and in-app purchases in the first week of 2015 with its sales on New Year’s Day also breaking the record for sales in a single day. Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 reference hardware devices go on sale

Qualcomm has released reference smartphone and tablet hardware kits. Priced at $799 and $999 respectively, the mobile development platforms are being offered by the Canadian company Intrinsyc.

Apple releases Watchkit tools for developers

Leak reports Gtalk and Twitter to be integrated with BB10 O.S

Just a few weeks back we had reported that RIM is all set to launch BB10 with loads of applications, now as the time comes closer to the launch of RIM’s much awaited O.S rumors are coming in that Twitter and Gtalk will be integrated right into the O.S and will be included inside the Blackberry hub.

Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro Preview

At the Mobile Benchmarking Workshop here in San Francisco , Qualcomm showed off it’s next generation Quadcore mobile processor – the Snapdragon S4 Pro (APQ 8064) .  And guess what Qualcomm just did not make just a boring announcement about a chipset and that the devices using the chip will be in the market later this year. But , Qualcomm let us use a tablet (prototype obviously ) which uses the new quadcore chip with 4 Krait cores along with the new Adreno 320 GPU. Blackberry 10 Developer Alpha impressions

Research in Motion has been showing off teasers of its upcoming Blackberry 10 OS for a while now but admittedly their bigger problem is to get developers onboard their fledgling platform.

BlackBerry OS 10 developer device unveiled at BlackBerry World

BlackBerry CEO Heins just unveiled the BlackBerry OS 10 based device which will be handed over to developers at the ongoing BlackBerry World conference in Orlando , Florida. While exact specifications are still missing , the highlight has got to be the gorgeous display on the slab.

The 4.2″ display packs in an amazing 1280×768 resolution panel which is above and beyond most other 720p panels out there. The internals include 16GB of storage and 1GB of RAM.

We have been waiting for a long time to be able to play Xbox 360 games on our iPhones and Android devices, well for all you gamers, this wait is going to end soon as Andrew Russell, a well known developer is in works to create an open source software which will enable game devs to port their Xbox 360 and Windows Phone7 games to IOS and Android devices.

Dear Nokia, If US Developers Don’t Come Now, I’m Afraid They Never Will

We all know that while there are a lot of cool developer houses in Asia, Europe and Africa, for whom coding for Nokia, and Symbian more specifically, is on the high priority list, there are still tons of amazing software companies in North America who would rather play the lottery by publishing their titles on iOS and Android amongst fierce competition by hundreds of thousands of other apps, than play The Wheel of Fortune and work on Symbian where getting any fame is almost a guarantee.

So why am I making the statement that if developers don’t come now, I don’t think they ever will? Well because of three factors essentially.

Facebook Connects with iPhone

Facebook applications will now be available on the iPhone through Facebook Connect. Through Connect, developers can code iPhone OS-friendly Facebook applications, simply by adding a few lines of ‘Objective C’ which is used in App development for iPhone OS.

Henceforth, iPhone or iPod Touch users will be able to log into Facebook directly within an app and share whatever they wish to with friends.
