YU YUREKA got the Cyanogen OS 12 update (YNG1TAS0W0) based on Android 5.0.2 (Lollipop) last month. Now the smartphone is getting a new incremental software update that is said to improve the battery life of the smartphone. The update doesn’t change the Android version from 5.0.2, but the smartphone is expected to get the Android 5.1.1 update soon. Amazon India has announced that the YU YUREKA smartphone will be available today for select customers those who have shown a high level of interest to buy the smartphone but were unable to get it. The sale happens today, Wednesday, February 18, 2015 from 2 PM to 5 PM. Only registered customers who were unable to purchase the YUREKA will be eligible to participate in today’s sale and will receive an email from Amazon.in informing them of their access to the sale, said the company.

YU today announced that it has sold 10,000 units of YU YURKA smartphones in just 3 seconds in the third flash sale on Amazon.in. It sold 15,000 units of Yureka smartphones in 4 seconds in its second flash sale last week. Next sale is scheduled for next Thursday, February 5th at 2PM. Registrations for the next sale will begin at 5PM today on Amazon. Users will have to register to participate in the weekly flash sale and registrations of previous sales will not be valid for future sales, said the company. Micromax’s YU launched the YU YUREKA (AO5510) smartphone last month for Rs. 8,999. We brought you the unboxing, photo gallery, benchmarks and battery test results of the smartphone recently. Here we have the camera samples. The Yukrea has a 13-megapixel auto focus rear camera with single LED Flash, 5P lenses, Sony Exmor RS IMX135 sensor, f/2.2 aperture and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, OmniVision 5648 sensor, 4P lenses and 71-degree wide viewing angle. Since it runs on Cyanogen OS, it comes with Cyanogen camera app that has several modes.
Micromax’s YU plans to sell 10,000 units of YUREKA smartphones on its first flash sale on January 13th, tomorrow at 2PM on Amazon.in, according to a report from PTI (via ET). The company has received over three lakh registrations for the smartphone, and it had to close the registration a day before the actual date of December 25th due to tremendous response, said Micromax co-founder Rahul Sharma to PTI.
