Most of the video content I watch these days are people recording themselves. This is something I have been noticing for a while now. Seriously, if I go through my watch history, it’s mostly about technology, sometimes comedy, sometimes music and a lot of vlogs. The common thread? Most, if not all of these videos are people recording themselves in interesting ways. Popular YouTubers star in their own videos, and it doesn’t stop there, they edit and direct their own videos as well! That’s why they are called YouTubers and not actors, editors or directors. It has also expanded its internal Solid-State Drive (SSD) portfolio with the its M.2 NM series; featuring a traditional SATA III (6Gb/s) SSD (NM200), plus more advanced solutions with NVMe performance (NM500, NM520, NM600) for entry-level to PC enthusiasts.
Withings, popular for its digital health products and services has introduced new Move ECG analog watch which it says is the world’s first analog watch to record an electrocardiogram (ECG) on-demand to monitor cardiovascular health and detect heart conditions such as atrial fibrillation (AFib). It has also introduced the standard Move without ECG and up to 18 months of battery life. At CES 2019, Dell has introduced its flagship gaming laptop; the Alienware Area-51m. The company has also introduced the m17, m15, and m17 that come with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 20 Series GPUs. At CES 2019, Google has introduced a preview of Google Assistant Connect which is a platform for device manufacturers to bring the Google Assistant into their products in an easy-to-implement way. Google also announced that it is bringing the Assistant to the Sonos One and Sonos Beam. Google said that it is working with even more brands to launch new smart home devices this year, including select Whirlpool connected appliances, GE’s smart microwave, and August security products. Lenovo and Google at CES 2019 have unveiled the Lenovo Smart Clock with the Google Assistant. The company says that the Smart Clock lets you control your smart home and listen to your favorite music with multi-room audio grouping. The Lenovo Smart Clock supports voice and touch controls. TCL Communication at the CES 2019 introduced new Alcatel 1 Series smartphones – Alcatel 1X (2019) and Alcatel 1C (2019), sucessors of last year’s 1X and 1C models. The new 1X has an HD+ screen, comes with dual rear cameras and also has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The new 1C Android Oreo Go Edition smartphone has an FWVGA+ screen and a non-slip, textured finish.
Intel at the CES 2019 announced Ice Lake, next-generation 10nm PC platform, Project Athena, an innovation program to deliver a new class of advanced laptops with 5G and artificial intelligence, and previewed a new client platform code-named Lakefield.
Lenovo has announced the latest additions to the ThinkPad X1 products; the ThinkPad X1 Carbon 7th Gen and ThinkPad X1 Yoga 4th Gen. According to the company, the X1 Carbon 7th Gen and X1 Yoga 4th Gen are both thinner and lighter than ever. The 4th-gen ThinkPad X1 Yoga is the company’s first-ever ThinkPad with an all-aluminum chassis.
