Samsung starts mass production of first 12GB LPDDR4X + eUFS 3.0 multichip package

Samsung at the annual Samsung Tech Day in San Jose, California announced that is has started mass production of first 12-gigabyte (GB) low-power double data rate 4X (LPDDR4X) UFS-based multichip package (uMCP). Samsung introduced 12GB LPDDRX chips with 1y-nanometer process technology back in March that combines six 16-gigabit (Gb) LPDDR4X chips (16Gb=2GB) based on the second-generation 10nm-class (1y-nm) process into a single package. Samsung Exynos 990 7nm EUV SoC with support for up to 120Hz refresh-rate displays, LPDDR5, up to 108MP camera and 5G Exynos Modem 5123 announced

Samsung has announced its latest Exynos 990 SoC, soon after the Exynos 980 that was introduced last month. This uses 7nm EUV (extreme ultra violet) lithography processing technology for better power efficiency, same as Exynos 9825 SoC that powers the Galaxy Note10. This has tri-cluster CPU structure that consists of two powerful custom cores, two high-performance Cortex-A76 cores and four power-efficient Cortex-A55 cores. It has dual-core neural processing unit (NPU) and improved digital signal processor (DSP) that can perform over ten-trillion operations (TOPs) per second. Google launches new digital well-being experiment apps for Android

Google’s Digital Wellbeing feature debuted with Android Pie and became available in phones running Android 9 (Pie) and above. Google expanded digital well-being tools with Focus mode earlier this way and on similar lines, now Google has released 6 new digital well-being experiment apps for Android.

HUAWEI global smartphone shipments cross 200 million units in 2019

Recently, International Data Corporation (IDC) published a report regarding the worldwide smartphone shipments in Q2 2019 and HUAWEI posted annual growth with 58.7 million shipments and 8.3% YoY change. Now, HUAWEI has announced that their global smartphone shipments have exceeded 200 million units to date in 2019.

LG G8X ThinQ with 6.4-inch FHD+ OLED display, Snapdragon 855 global roll out begins Nov 1, price revealed

LG introduced the G8X ThinQ at the IFA last month, and it started rolling out as V50S ThinQ with 5G support in Korea earlier this month. Today the company has announced the global roll out for the G8X ThinQ, which will be available in the U.S. on November 1 followed by key markets around the world such as Brazil, Germany, Japan, Mexico, Spain and Turkey over the next several weeks. It will be sold in the U.S. unlocked at $699.99 (Rs. 49,630 approx.) on Amazon as well as AT&T and Sprint. The company is also offering LG Dual Screen worth $300 for eligible customers when discounted through carrier agreements. It will be available for pre-order from Friday, Oct. 25 and will vary by wireless provider and retailer.

Meizu just announced 16T, the company’s latest smartphone in China, as it had promised. It has a 6.5-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display from Samsung, TÜV eye protection certification, is powered by Snapdragon 855 with up to 8GB of RAM, runs Flyme OS with Android Pie on top, has a 12-megapixel rear camera along with a secondary 8-megapixel 118° ultra-wide lens that is also capable of shooting 2.5cm macro and a 5-megapixel depth sensor for portrait shots. ColorOS 7.0 with near stock Android experience coming to realme phones soon, realme Fitness Band expected next month

Realme’s smartphone run ColorOS 6, based on Android 9 (Pie), and some of its latest phones have some tweaks so they call it ColorOS 6 realme edition. In the latest episode of #AskMadhav, the company’s CEO, Madhav Sheth has answered some questions about their future OS.
