Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 gets hands-free head gestures, adaptive audio, loud noise protection, and Gemini Live support

Google has started rolling out firmware version 4.467 for the Pixel Buds Pro 2, bringing new features to improve audio, safety, and Gemini Live interactions. The update is designed to enhance hands-free controls, adapt to surroundings, and protect hearing.

Key Features in Pixel Buds Pro 2 Version 4.467:
  • Adaptive Audio: Adapts audio volume according to the surrounding environment. Whether walking, cycling, commuting, or at the gym, you can enjoy music, podcasts, and audiobooks while staying aware of nearby sounds.
  • Loud Noise Protection: Reduces sudden loud sounds to protect your ears. For example, a passing fire truck siren won’t blast at full volume, ensuring safer listening in sudden loud situations.
  • Head Gestures for Calls and Texts: Control calls and texts without touching your phone. Nod to answer or reply, shake to decline, for a fully hands-free experience.
  • Clear Gemini Live Interactions: Advanced audio processing prioritizes your voice and filters background noise, allowing uninterrupted conversations with Gemini Live even in noisy environments.
Availability

The update is being rolled out gradually to all Pixel Buds Pro 2 users starting September 25, 2025. Users should keep their earbuds charged, connected to their phones, and ensure the Google app is updated to receive the new firmware.
