I was recently in London for the Nokia Lumia 925 launch event and carried along some flagships like the Galaxy S4 , HTC One , Nokia Lumia 920 and the Apple iPhone 5. When it comes to keeping the promise for Software Updates, Nokia is definitely one of those few companies who complies with such promise. Nokia pushed the Gallery and Camera update as software update to its imaging super-champ Nokia 808 PureView back in March. This update is now available in India.  The update which is little more than 2MB in size has been pushed through Software Update application than as separate firmware update. Nokia Lumia 925 vs HTC One Quick Comparison

The Nokia Lumia 925 launched the day before yesterday, invoking various reactions from the internet, including ours, which is detailed in the hands on post here. This new Lumia device with a metal frame loses a lot of weight and has slimmed down, mainly for people who were holding out on the 920 because of its bulkiness. We had explained the differences between it and the 920 here, which would make sense of this device’s release. At the event, once we were done with the Lumia 925 photo gallery, we were looking to compare it with various flagship devices. Nokia Creative Studio gets a massive update for Lumia WP8 devices, we go hands on!

Along with all the Lumia 925 stuff that happened yesterday, Nokia revealed some interesting software additions and updates in the announcement. While the highlight was on the Nokia Smart Camera lens, the picture editing app exclusive for Lumia devices, also called as the Nokia Creative Studio received a rather huge update yesterday. The new update comes with the version number 5.0.7.6, and is available for download here. The update is available for all Windows Phone 8 devices and introduces various new features. Naturally, we went hands on with it and found it to be quite nice actually, take a look –

We have been bringing you a lot of Nokia Lumia 925 coverage live from London, including a photo gallery, a Lumia 925 hands on and even a Samsung Galaxy S4 comparison video, so, following that tradition, here is our comparison of the Lumia 925 with its older brother, the Lumia 920. It is an interesting comparison because the Lumia 925 is a natural evolution of the Lumia 920, with it fixing many perceived flaws and shortcomings like thickness, weight and slightly mushy camera. I am here in London , United Kingdom for the Nokia Lumia event where the handset maker announced the latest addition to its Lumia line up of Windows Phones. I got some hands on time with Lumia 925 and here are my first impressions. The Lumia 925 might be the best Windows Phone device to be announced till now. It is also one of the most well made phones we have had a chance to play with in the recent times like the HTC One or iPhone 5. Nokia decided to use an aluminum frame for the 925 and the phone has a premium feel to it because of this. The back is not made of metal but uses plastic, polycarbonate material. The main highlight of the Lumia 925 is the Camera with supposedly best-in class low light camera performance. Watch the hands-on video below

Instagram for Windows Phone might go official soon, hinted by @InstagramWP twitter account

Only today did Nokia announce a new app in partnership with hipastamatic, which co-incidentally could share photos to Instagram. But as a surprise, we spotted this @InstagramWP account – which claims to be the official twitter account for THE official Instagram client for Windows Phone. While trying to check the credibility, we found that the official Nokia account was actually its first follower, adding more clarification to our doubts. So, yes, the official Instagram app for Windows Phone might be just around the corner then, yay?

Nokia Lumia 925 has a “world’s first” 6 element smartphone lens and can go up to ISO 3200

Right when we were thinking what was new with the Nokia Lumia 925’s camera, we just happened to see some tweets from Nokia’s Imaging team. Having launched the device in London today, Nokia have confirmed that the Lumia 925 has a slightly updated camera, both in terms of hardware and software. In terms of hardware, the Lumia 925 is supposedly featuring a “world’s first” 6 element lens, unlike the usual 5 element lenses on various smartphones. On the software front, apart from all the Smart Camera features, the camera can go up to ISO 3200 now, whereas ISO 800 was the previous limit on the Lumia 920. For comparison sakes, the Nokia 808 PureView can go up to ISO 1600.

The Nokia Lumia 925 just launched at an event in London today, with a sleek aluminium design and a few software improvements for the camera. The 8.7 megapixel camera-toting Lumia 925 is almost similar to the Lumia 920 in terms of specifications, but the design, now with the aluminium build has changed a lot. We were at the event live, while the phone was announced, and now, we have got some hands on time with the device. Nokia introduces Smart Camera app on the Lumia 925, coming to Lumia Windows Phone 8 devices

Nokia introduced the Lumia 925 at an event in London just now. At the event Nokia introduced the Smart Camera, a new app that would come pre-loaded on the Lumia 925. Nokia has also announced that the app would also come to select Lumia Windows Phone 8 devices. The Smart Camera lets you shoots a sequence of photos, making it easier to capture great moments, choose your Best Shot or combine the photos into one picture, make a strobe effect to emphasize motion, remove unwanted objects or choose the best faces for great group shots.
