Hands on with Nokia’s HERE Maps for iOS

Nokia Maps for WP7 revealed in screenshots

The wapxap.com team have uncovered the placeholder listing for Nokia Maps on Windows Phone devices. The market place listing shows four screenshots for the new mapping solution being developed by Nokia.

The description reads as :

Nokia Maps helps you to be a local anywhere you go. See where you are and discover places nearby in a snap. Get reviews, uncover new destinations and reach them with smart routing for public transport, walking and driving.

Nokia’s mapping service is known to offer best in class offline turn-by-turn navigation for free. This is expected to be one of the key differentiators of Nokia’s Windows Phone devices from those made by other OEMs.

Nokia Maps coming to S40 devices with offline Map viewing

Nokia announced its Dual SIM touch and type slider phone, C2-03 at Nokia Connection at Singapore. This phone also comes with Nokia Maps pre-loaded in it. Unlike the earlier versions of the Nokia maps on the S40 devices, this would support offline map viewing.

Nokia and Yahoo

Nokia and Yahoo have finally announced a partnership today in New York which was codenamed as Project Nike prior to this.  This might be significant for Nokia who has an ever declining market share in USA which is one of the most competitive mobile markets in the world.  Nokia and Yahoo will collaborate on Email , IM , Maps. Nokia gives the UK ‘Good Things’ as X Factor winner, Alexandra Burke could play live in your town

London, UK – A signpost the size of two London buses will be suspended next to the capital’s iconic Tower Bridge as Nokia asks Brits to map out – and point to – the nation’s ‘Good Things’. Nokia just introduced their latest version of the highly popular Nokia Maps v3.0. It has a inbuilt synchronisation with their very own all in 1 service the Ovi. Also it has got better maps than ever before, enhanced Drive and Walk navigation.
