Android 4.0.4 update starts rolling out for Nexus S and HSPA+ Galaxy Nexus

Google has announced on their Android Google+ page that they have started rolling out Android 4.0.4 update for UMTS / GSM Nexus S (I9020), HSPA+ Galaxy Nexus (I9250) and Motorola Xoom Wi-Fi in select regions. Some users might receive the it for the first time, and others who are on Android 4.0.3 would receive it as an update that is around 17MB. Carbon for Android previewed on video , Looks fantastic

Carbon for Twitter which had made a name for itself on the doomed WebOS platform recently made the jump to Windows Phone 7. Increasing its reach a bit , it is now also making its way to the exceptionally popular Android platform. The developers put up a short video demoing its refreshing new UI today.

Instagram opens sign up page for Android users

The long awaited version of Instagram for Android is right around the corner as was revealed by co-founder Kevin Systrom at SXSW. In anticipation for the impending release , Instagram has opened up a sign up page so that Android users will be notified as soon as the app goes live on the store.

Instagram is an incredibly popular photo sharing service which lets users apply filters to images. Used by over 27 million users, the service has so far been an iOS exclusive. Systrom has previously claimed that the Android app is even better than the much lauded iOS application. There is no set date for the application to go live but you can sign up at the link below to be informed about it as soon as it does.

Sony Xperia NXT family hands-on

Sony announced two new Xperia NXT smartphones at MWC a couple of days ago and today we had a chance to go hands-on with the new devices, the Xperia P and Xperia U, alongside the already announced Xperia S. Read on for our hands-on impressions.

With the new Xperia NXT family, Sony has introduced a new design language that looks stunning. While the new Xperia S, Xperia P and Xperia U were developed under Sony Ericsson, the far reaching influence of Sony are clear. The translucent bar near the bottom of the phones for example reminds me of a couple of their Bravia TV models with ‘floating’ frame construction. Read on for our hands-on impressions.
