BSNL unlimited 3G is back but with 5GB limit in Chennai
BSNL has launched an unlimited 3G plan for pre-paid and post-paid customers in Chennai. This offers speed up to 3.6 Mbps till 5GB, and after that speed would be throttled to 100 Kbps. They offered 3G unlimited iPad plans few months back but stopped it suddenly. This is not a lot but you get unlimited usage even after the 3G data limit. Rumour : Apple might open Retail Stores in India soon
Apple might open it’s own Retail Stores in India soon according to a report by LiveMint which quotes an unnamed source in a government body Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion. The Indian government has approved 100% Foreign Direct Investment FDI in Single Brand Retail recently. So such a move by Apple will not be surprising,as they have massive expansion plans for Asia. Apple has not commented much about India in particular in the past but the quick launch of the iPad 2 with decent pricing and iPhone 4S with crazy pricing are indications of things to come. Samsung Star 3 and Star 3 DUOS announced
Samsung has announced 2 new touch screen phones, Star 3 and Star 3 DUOS that is the successor of Samsung Star, Star Duos and Star 2 phones. These phones come with 3-inch (320 x 240 pixels) TFT LCD touch screen and 3.2 Megapixel Fixed Focus camera. Wikipedia app now available for Android
Wikipedia app is finally available for Android. This would let the users search articles nearby, share articles using Android Share function, read article in a different language and more. This official app by Wikimedia Foundation is already available for iPhone. The iPhone app has also received updates such as geo service for near by and some crash and bug fixes. TRAI asks operators to publish tariff plans regularly
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has announced that all Telecom service providers should publish their Tariff Plan details regularly to let the customers know about the changes. They should also publish the tariff details in at least one Newspaper of regional language and one English newspaper at an interval not more than 6 months. ACE in white looks quite stunning. Now its preloaded with Android 2.3.5 which provides performance boost to the ACE. It is quite smooth and snappy out of the box compared to Android 2.2 (Froyo). Other that the software it is similar to the black version of the Galaxy Ace The current MOP of ACE White edition is Rs. 14500/- in Mumbai, India.

BSNL launches Trust Card in partnership with Itz cash card
BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd.), in partnership with Itz Cash Card Ltd., has launched TRUST Card, a co-branded multi service prepaid card in India as they announced last year. This is a semi-closed card that would let the card holders pay postpaid bill, prepaid top ups and other utility bills easily. Sony Ericsson has launched the Live with Walkman in India. This is the successor of the Walkman W8 and Mix Walkman and features dedicated Walkman hardware button and it also comes with . It has 3.2-inch (320 x 480 pixels) TFT capacitive touch screen display, 1 GHz Qualcomm Scorpion processor and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). Motorola DEFY MINI up for pre-order in UK for £174.99
Motorola announced the DEFY MINI, rugged Android phone earlier this month. Clove UK has announced that it is available for pre-order and would ship at the end of February or early March. The DEFY MINI is Dustproof and water-resistant and has 3.2-inch touchscreen Corning GorillaGlass display, 600MHz processor and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). Nokia, Airtel still rank as top trusted brands in India
Nokia has been voted as India’s Most Trusted Brand again and retains their first position from the last year according to a recent survey conducted by research firm Trust Research Advisory (TRA). In the telecom sector, Airtel leads by retaining the same 9th spot as last year. The Brand Trust Report, India Study, 2012 (BTR 2012) has listed India’s 1000 Most Trusted Brands and this research was conducted among 2718 ‘influencer’ respondents across 15 cities. It has 8MP camera with Full HD video recording, flash and BIS sensor, 2MP front facing camera. It is 9.34mm thick and weighs 479g.
