OnePlus just launched the OnePlus 15R, the company’s latest top-end smartphone in R series India, as it had promised.
This foundation supports OxygenOS 16, which will introduce AI-driven features designed for smoother interaction, intelligent language tools, and enhanced imaging support. A deeper integration with Google’s personal AI assistant Gemini is noted, allowing users to connect with Mind Space to access and act on previously saved information. Additionally, the new Plus Mind feature is described as a personalized, context-aware second brain.
OxygenOS 16 is based on Android 16. The phone will get 4 major timely updates to the OS and 6 years of security patches, same as the OnePlus 15.
Display
The phone packs a 6.83″ 1.5K AMOLED screen with 60/90/120/144/165Hz Adaptive refresh rate with 144Hz / 165Hz refresh rate for gaming. It is supported by a dedicated touch response chip that brings, 3200Hz touch sampling for instant response to every interaction.
Key display specifications include a pixel density of 450 pixels per inch (PPI) and a brightness range that can adjust from a peak of 1,800 nits down to 2 nits by default, or 1 nit when the Reduce White Point feature is activated. The display has also received the TÜV Rheinland Intelligent Eye Care 5.0 certification, according to OnePlus.
Performance
This is the first phone to be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC, has support for 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512TB UFS 4.1 storage, and has 360° Cryo-Velocity Cooling System integrates a 5,704mm² 3D vapor chamber for core heat dissipation, an aerospace-derived aerogel insulation layer that minimizes surface heat transfer, and a white graphite back cover for uniform thermal distribution.
It has a dedicated Wi-Fi chip for smarter and smoother Wi-Fi connections, even if there are solid walls or floors between you and the router you’re
connected to. And for India users, OnePlus 15R has worked with TP-LINK to cut down Wi-Fi congestion and reduce in game lag for smoother, low latency gaming even on busy Wi-Fi networks.
Camera
The phone has a 50MP Sony IMX906 sensor for the main camera, OIS, 8MP ultra-wide camera and 32MP autofocus front camera.
It has 4K 120fps video recording for the rear camera, and uses DetailMax Engine, an advanced system integrating multiple technologies to achieve clearer, high-fidelity photos, same as the OnePlus 15.
Key features of the engine include:
- Ultra-Clear 26MP mode: This mode combines data from multi-frame 12MP shots with a single 50MP high-resolution frame. The resulting 26MP photo is designed to offer improved clarity, particularly in complex textures like foliage and fabrics, while maintaining a practical file size.
- Clear Burst: This feature improves on previous models by shooting at 10 frames per second, up from 6fps on the OnePlus 13. It utilizes dual-exposure anti-blur technology, capturing both short and long exposures simultaneously to freeze motion while retaining detail.
- Clear Night Engine: For low-light photography, this engine employs Dual Analog Gain technology to eliminate timing gaps between exposures. The stated result is brighter, cleaner, and more natural-looking night photos with reduced noise.
Design and Durability

- Electric Violet: Exclusive to OnePlus in India that uses fibreglass to deliver a refined and precise, powerful purple tone while being built to last and resist wear.
It has a metal frame, and comes with IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings, so it can withstand water immersion at a depth of 2m for 30 min and high-pressure water jets at temperatures up to 80°C, same as the OnePlus 15.
Battery and charging
The OnePlus 15R houses a substantial 7,400 mAh battery. OnePlus claims this large capacity is designed for extended use, stating the battery is built to maintain at least 80% capacity after four years of operation. The device will support OnePlus’s 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging technology.
Furthermore, the battery utilizes Silicon Nanostack technology, featuring a 15% silicon content in its anode, which is intended to provide “excellent energy density.”

The OnePlus 15R is priced at Rs. 47,999 for the 12GB + 256GB model, and the 16GB + 512GB model costs Rs. 52,999.
