Disney’s Monsters University game now available on Android and iOS

Monsters University, the fun animated prequel to the Monsters Inc. movie that released a long time back, has just landed in theatres worldwide today and co-inciding with the release is a brand new game from Disney – Monsters University(yes, the same name as the movie) for iOS and Android. The game features two mini games inside it, and promises to bring more mini games in future updates. It is available for download on the iTunes app store for iOS and the Google Play Store for Android.

Whatsapp crosses 250 million active users, bigger than Twitter

Whatsapp, one of the most popular online messaging services, has revealed a very important statistic to the Wall Street Journal that it has crossed 250 million active monthly users, which is incidentally bigger than Twitter which recently announced 200 million monthly active users. This makes Whatsapp one of the largest messaging platforms. In comparison, Skype has 280 million monthly active users, and for a 4 year old company such as Whatsapp, a number close to that is actually a great achievement.

It has a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. It comes with dual SIM support with dual standby and DTS audio. Youku Tudou and Qualcomm partner on HEVC tech for Snapdragon-powered devices

Youku Tudou, China’s leading online video giant and Qualcomm Incorporated has partnered to announce a collaboration on H.265 technology that would offer Youku viewers high quality video content on Qualcomm Snapdragon processor powered devices. The H.265, also known as High Efficiency Video Coding was approved by ITU-VCEG (Video coding experts group) earlier this year. This offers compression efficiency of up to 40% compared to current video compression technology H.264. This also provides high quality video at the same time. Idea Cellular has also reduced 2G data rates followed by Airtel and Vodafone. Idea Cellular has reduced 2G data rates by 90% across 8 circles. Earlier this week Vodafone announced the reduction of 2G data rates for the Pay as you Go (PAYG) users down to 2p/10KB from the previous rate of 10p/10KB, later Airtel announced the reduction of 2G data rates by 90% for pre-paid customers in Punjab and Haryana. Instagram for Android and iPhone updated with Video support

Facebook has updated the Instagram app for Android and iPhone to version 4.0 that brings support for Videos. This lets you record a video up to 15 seconds on the Instagram camera by clicking the movie camera icon and pressing the record button. You can add filters and upload it. There are 13 filters built specifically for video, and you can also select your favorite scene from the recorded video as your cover image that can be viewed when they’re not playing. Samsung launched the Galaxy Mega 6.3 (GT-I9200) in India at a price tag of Rs. 31,490 along with the Mega 5.8 last month. The Galaxy Mega 6.3 went on pre-order from online retailers last week, the phone is now available from those retailers. The official Samsung eStore is still taking pre-orders for the device. It has a 6.3-inch HD ( 1280 x 720 pixels) TFT capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.7 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). Rovio, the creators of the popular Angry Birds franchise has published Icebreaker: A Viking Voyage through Rovio Stars, the new mobile game publishing program. It is  a new adventure based on the award-winning flash game developed by UK-based studio Nitrome and is built using native iOS languages rather than the flash. In Icebreaker, You play as lone icebreaker apprentice and need to save your fellow vikings by cutting through tangles of ice, ropes, traps, troll snot and chicken.
