Samsung is expected to introduce its flagship Galaxy Tab S3 at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 in Barcelona later this week. LG today launched K10 (2017) smartphone in India at an event. It was unveiled ahead of CES 2017 last month and this comes with India-specific SOS 112 emergency calling when you press the power button three times or pressing the SoS option in the menu, as recommended by India’s telecom ministry. Panasonic has launched Toughpad FZ-F1 and Toughpad FZ-N1, two new rugged handheld devices and Toughpad FZ-A2, its latest rugged tablet targeted at enterprise. All the devices are IP65 certified for dust and water resistance. The Toughpad FZ-F1 and FZ-N1 also have MIL-STD-810G ratings with drop rating of 6 feet, so they can stand up to the abuse of the most demanding usage environments and also submersible, in up to 3.3 feet of water for 30 minutes. Verizon Communications and Yahoo back in July last announced they have entered into a definitive agreement under which Verizon will acquire Yahoo’s operating business for approximately $4.83 billion in cash. Today both the companies have announced that they have agreed to reduce the price Verizon will pay to acquire Yahoo’s operating business by $350 million. Huawei’s Honor brand introduced Honor 8 Lite, a cheaper version of its flagship Honor 8 smartphone in Finland earlier this month. Now it has introduced the smartphone in China along with the Honor V9. It has a 12-megapixel single rear camera instead of dual 12-megapixel rear cameras on the Honor 8, is powered by an Octa-Core Kirin 655 processor and runs Android 7.0 (Nougat) with EMUI 5.0 out of the box. Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 4 smartphone in India last month starting Rs. 9999. Only the Gold and Dark Gray colors were available so far through flash sales on Flipkart and mi.com. Xiaomi has announced that the Black version will be available for sale for the first time on both the platform on March 1st at 12PM along with the other color variants, as it had promised. HTC just launched its flagship U Ultra smartphone and U Play in India at an event, as it had promised. Both the smartphones was announced last month. The HTC U Ultra comes with a 2-inch 520 PPI secondary touch-screen display above the main 5.7-inch Quad HD display. The U Play has a 5.2-inch 1080p display without a secondary screen and is powered by an Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P10 processor, has 16-megapixel front and rear cameras and a fingerprint sensor on the front.
