HTC was one of the first OEMs to confirm Android 8.0 (Oreo) update for some of its top-end devices. After rolling out Android Oreo update for the HTC U11 and HTC 10 smartphones, the company has started rolling out Android 8.0 (Oreo) update for the U Ultra smartphone starting from Taiwan. Some users are also reporting that the update is available in India as well. The changelog is simple that mentions Android 8.0 (Oreo) update and system enhancements.

It’s been a while since we saw a compelling flagship from HTC. The HTC 10 Evo launched back a couple of months back wasn’t much of an upgrade over the 10 and offered little reason for users to upgrade. With the U Ultra, the company has adopted a somewhat refreshed design though the device is unmistakably an HTC. What is more interesting is that HTC isn’t really calling this its flagship and maintains that it still has a lot more under its sleeve. HTC just launched its flagship U Ultra smartphone and U Play in India at an event, as it had promised. Both the smartphones was announced last month. The HTC U Ultra comes with a 2-inch 520 PPI secondary touch-screen display above the main 5.7-inch Quad HD display. The U Play has a 5.2-inch 1080p display without a secondary screen and is powered by an Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P10 processor, has 16-megapixel front and rear cameras and a fingerprint sensor on the front.

It was announced last month and comes with a 2-inch 520 PPI secondary touch-screen display above the main 5.7-inch Quad HD display. It has a glass finish on the front and back, and a metal frame and the rear glass is fully curved at all four edges. HTC just announced U Ultra, the company’s flagship smartphone in the new ‘U series’. The main highlight of the smartphone is the 2-inch 520 PPI secondary touch-screen display above the main display, like the LG V20. It has a glass finish on the front and back, and a metal frame and the rear glass is fully curved at all four edges. HTC is expected to announce HTC U Ultra at an event on January 12th. A bunch of live images of the HTC U Ultra have surfaced in a new leak. According to the images, it looks like the phone will sport a secondary display that we have already seen on LG V10 and LG V20.
