Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 311 vs Apple iPad Mini

Samsung’s dominance in the smartphone market is well-known, but the South Korean electronics giant is yet to stamp its authority on the Tablet market. Apple was the company that brought back tablets to life with their original iPad.

Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 3 311 was launched in July while the iPad Mini was launched way back last year. The iPad Mini is almost at the end of its product cycle while the Tab 3 is quite fresh.

Both the tablets are worlds apart in terms of build quality, the software they run and the internals they feature. Lets check out how they perform.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Hands On

We were live blogging the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 launch event from Berlin and we did manage to get our hands on the device.It does look slightly different from the previous generation Galaxy Note 2 in terms of the design and features.It has a larger 5.7 inch display and feels pretty nice to hold in hand thanks to the new textured back which is not a fingerprint magnet.The back cover is still removable.It supports LTE globally on every network according to Samsung.It also supports Ultra HD or 4K video capture which is pretty new to phones. It weighs 168grams and is about 8.33 m thick and the iconic stylus or S-pen is still part of the package.

But there was also another Snapdragon 800 device that impressed us with its performance and that was the Xperia Z Ultra, the first 6.44 inch device from Sony. Samsung Galaxy Gear Hands On

Much has been leaked about Samsung’s Galaxy Gear smartwatch. Today at the Unpacked Event in Berlin, we finally got a chance to see for ourselves if the Korean giant’s first efforts to enter into the world of wearables would be something special and here are our first impressions of the Samsung Galaxy Gear. Shaped like a conventional watch, the Gear is chunky to say the least. It might not be the most visually appealing smartwatch but it’s not an eye sore either. Motorola Moto X Unboxing

The Moto X is the all new Motorola phone designed and manufactured in the US and it is one first few phones to come out of a Motorola owned by Google. The Moto X was announced on Aug 1st after numerous leaks. The Moto X is currently on sale only in the US on AT&T and through Motorola’s MotoMaker website. It is not going to be available in India or any other market anytime soon, so we managed to get one from the US just for you guys because at the end of the day we love technology and think that great products should be available globally to anyone interested. Micromax launched the Canvas Doodle 2 A240, the successor of the Canvas Doodle earlier this week at a price tag of Rs. 19,990. Here we have the device for the review. Let’s take a look at the unboxing first. The phone has a huge 5.7-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589 processor with PowerVR SGX 544MP GPU and runs on Android 4.2.1 (Jelly Bean). The Canvas 4 had a aluminium rim on the sides, but this one has aluminium body.

Netgear Push2TV PTV3000 Unboxing and Miracast Demo

Miracast is a wireless screencast standard that aims to be an open alternative to Apple’s AirPlay. With certified devices, the technology works over a peer-to-peer WiFi Direct connection and mirrors everything on your screen on to compatible devices, like for example, your TV. There are many devices that support the Miracast standard and one of them is the Netgear Push2TV that we bought recently. It supports not one but two wireless screencasting standards – Miracast for many Smartphones and Tablets, and Intel WiDi for the new range of ultrabooks. Intex was the first company to launch an affordable Android smartphone, the Cloud X3 running on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). We have the device for unboxing and review. It is powered by the latest MediaTek MT6572 chip with Mali-400 MP GPU that has integrated Wi-Fi, FM, GPS and Bluetooth. Both the Cloud X1 and the Cloud X2 had a single-core processor. Sadly the Cloud X3 doesn’t have 3G support, but for the affordable price tag of Rs. 3790, it is acceptable. Intex has also launched the the Cloud X4 recently, which has a 3.2MP rear camera and 3G support.

iBall Andi 4.7G Cobalt Unboxing

There are lot of 5-inch HD devices in the Indian market, but the iBall Andi 4.7G Cobalt has a 4.7-inch HD display. It was launched last month at an MRP of Rs. 19995 and currently sells at a price tag of Rs. 17,990. Here we have the device. A 4.7-inch display with a resolution of 1280 by 720 pixels means it has a pixel density of 312 PPI, better than its competitors. Apart from the display other things are similar to most of the other smartphones in the similar range such as 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek 6589 processor and Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It a 12-megapixel auto focus rear camera with dual LED Flash and large 5-mgepixel front-facing auto focus camera. The box is huge as you can see in the unboxing video below.

Nokia Lumia 1020 Unboxing, AT&T Unlocked Version

The Nokia Lumia 1020 just arrived at FoneArena today and guess what, we managed to get hold of a unlocked unit from a US retailer. The device is currently exclusive sold only on AT&T in USA and Nokia is yet to launch the SIM-free/unlocked version in USA or any other market but how can you get one ? Read on to find out. This is indeed the Lumia 1020 for AT&T with the carrier branding but the good thing is it can accept any GSM SIM card, be it T-Mobile, Airtel or Vodafone. This supports LTE on AT&T but would work over 3G, HSPA in many countries including India. The device has evolved from the 808 PureView which was running on Symbian and subsequently the Lumia 920 which was one of the first Windows phones with a PureView camera. Today we have a combination of the best of the imaging from the 808 and 920, improved leaps and bounds, and delivered in the form of the Lumia 1020. Micromax launched the A111 Canvas Doodle back in May. It is the company’s first smartphone in the Canvas series to come with a stylus. It has a 5.3-inch (854 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 MSM8625Q processor similar to the Karbonn S5 Titanium and the Samsung Galaxy Grand Quattro. It runs on Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean).

Xolo launched the Q600, the company’s latest Android smartphone in the QCORE series last month at a price tag of Rs. 8999. Here we have the unboxing video of the device. The Xolo Q800 was the first phone in the QCORE series that was launched back in March. We reviewed the Q1000, the company’s flagship smartphone recently. The Q600 has a 4.5-inch (854 ×480 pixels) FWVGA capacitive touch screen display at 217 ppi, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek 6589M processor with 238 MHz PowerVR SGX544 GPU and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean).
