Pebble announces price cuts, $99 for the original and $199 for the Steel
Pebble, the company behind smartwatches with the same name, has announced price cuts for both of its models, alongside a crucial software update that enables continuous activity tracking. The original and the Steel both get a 50$ price cut to $99 and $199 respectively, with the original going back to its initial Kickstarter early bird price tag. With many of the newer Smartwatches selling at much higher prices, Pebble is well positioned to take advantage of the Smartwatch craze and lower the barrier of entry for enthusiasts seeking to try them out.

Pebble takes on fitness bands with continuous activity tracking in a new software update
Pebble’s initial idea of a smartwatch was something with various “smart” functions like a window for notifications, Bluetooth remote controls, animated watch faces and so on, but it was never focused on the fitness activity scene, even when it was clearly capable to do so. Not any more, as the company has just announced the latest software update for both of its Smartwatches that enables continuous fitness activity tracking in the background, which was previous not possible. Yes, there have been fitness apps and services on Pebble before, but it was required that you keep the app running, or use the watchface, but with this update, that’s no longer needed.

Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro with 6-inch Quad HD display launched in India for Rs. 32999

Lenovo has launched the Vibe Z2 Pro, the company’s latest high-end smartphone in India. It was announced back in August, before the the Vibe Z2 was unveiled at the IFA. It packs a 6-inch ( 2560 x 1440 pixels) Quad HD display with ultra narrow bezels, powered 2.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 (8974AC) processor with Adreno 330 GPU and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with Vibe UI 2.0. The invite doesn’t reveal anything, but the Lumia 830, the company’s latest mid-range smartphone and the Lumia 730 Dual SIM, its first selfie-centric smartphone are expected to launch tomorrow in India. 60,000 Redmi 1S units sell out in 13.9 seconds in fifth sale in India, next sale on Oct 14

Xiaomi has sold 60,000 units of Remi 1S smartphones in 13.9 seconds in the fifth flash sale in India today. The fifth sale took more time compared to previous Redmi 1S sales. Motorola FM Radio updated with Bluetooth listening, notification and lock screen controls

Motorola has updated its FM Radio app to version 01.10.0060 that brings support for Bluetooth listening when your Motorola smartphone is paired with a Bluetooth headset or a speaker. Since Motorola smartphones doesn’t come with an internal antenna for FM, your headset acts as the antenna for FM, so it must be plugged in even if you are listening to FM via Bluetooth. Once paired, you can press the cast button to play FM over Bluetooth.
