MIUI 14 launched in India – Check out the roll out details and list of Xiaomi and Redmi devices getting it

After the announcement of MIUI 13 in China in December, and the global launch yesterday, Xiaomi officially launched the MIUI 14 in an online event in India. This includes more efficient with optimized storage, offers more intuitive interactions, has new on-device privacy features and lets you be more connected than before.

Xiaomi said that MIUI 14 significantly reduces the space occupied by the firmware. With ~4GB reduction in the space occupied by MIUI, you can now use your ROM for the things that matter most to you, said the company.

MIUI 14 uses 200MB less boot up memory compared to MIUI 13, which the company says offers the fastest boot up speeds ever on a Xiaomi device. This also optimizes RAM used by foreground apps by up to 11% and background apps by up to 6% compared to MIUI 13.

MIUI 14 adds 14 new wallpapers, so now you can choose any of the 39 apps. There are 3 new clock styles, new gallery and weather widgets to customize your home screen. There are also new widgets for battery, step counter, cleaner, security and more.

Enlarged folder lets you open an app without opening the folder. Tabular icons offer more information in a 2 x 1 picture widget for apps such as sleep tracker and step counter, which will be expanded to more in the future.

With MIUI 14, users can also enhance the overall aesthetics through a redesigned settings page. By reducing the number of redundant entries, narrower line spacing and more recognisable icons, MIUI 14 makes it easier than ever to get to the settings you want.

Gallery gets an option to copy text from photos. There is also an option to remove people, lines and shadows from images with the built-in editor. There is a new protective watermark option that you can add to images. The new cut-out feature that lets you cut out an image and add a different background.

The camera app has a voice shutter feature that can capture images when you say cheese. The MIUI video editor also has new features.
