Redmi Note 9 Pro MIUI Software Update Tracker [Update: MIUI 11.0.8.0 with June security patch]


Xiaomi’s Redmi launched the Redmi Note 9 Pro in the country earlier this week running MIUI 11.0 Global Stable on top of Android 10. Xiaomi doesn’t follow any fixed update frequency for the MIUI Global Stable ROM but on average, the Global Stable ROM is updated once in a month.

MIUI Updates rolled out for the smartphone so far:

  • [Jul 10, 2020]: Xiaomi has started rolling out MIUI 11.0.8.0.QJWINXM with June Android security patch. The update weighs 380 MBs in size. [Download Link]
  • [May 27, 2020]: Xiaomi has started rolling out MIUI 11.0.7.0.QJWINXM with May Android security patch. The update is 261MB in size [Download Link]
  • [May 11, 2020]: Xiaomi has started rolling out MIUI 11.0.6.0.QJWINXM with April Android security patch. The update is 2.2GB in size, which is huge just for a security patch. [Download Link]
  • [Apr 16, 2020]: Xiaomi has finally released Android 10 based Kernel Source codes for Redmi Note 9 Pro. [Github Link]
  • [Apr 7, 2020]: Xiaomi has started rolling out MIUI 11.0.5.0.QJWINXM with March Android security patch. The update weighs 300 MBs in size, brings optimized system performance and improves system stability and security. [Download Link]
  • [Mar 14, 2020]: Xiaomi has started rolling out MIUI 11.0.4.0.QJWINXM with February Android  security patch. The update weighs 409MB in size, brings optimized system performance and improves system stability and security. [Download Link]

Note that Xiaomi follows staged roll-out, so the updates are randomly pushed to a limited number of users and a broader roll-out usually takes a few days after the company makes sure there are no critical bugs.

Redmi Note 9 Pro comes in Interstellar Black, Aurora Blue, and Glacier White colors and is available on Amazon.in, Mi.com and Mi Home Stores.
