LG has finally announced the Optimus F Series phones. LG started teasing a new Optimus series for the MWC 2013 earlier this month. These phones have 4G LTE support and would offer premium user experience for the mass market. The LG Optimus F5 has a 4.3-inch (960 × 540 pixels) IPS display, powered by a 1.2 GHz Dual-Core processor and the Optimus F7 has a 4.7-inch (1280 × 720 pixels) True HD IPS display and is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor. Both these phones run on Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) and comes with unique features such as QSlide, Live Zooming, QuickMemo, QTranslator, Video Wiz, Safety Care and more. Clove UK has revealed the price for the unlocked version of the just announced HTC One which is a flagship device from the Taiwanese phone maker with an excellent design and premium hardware. HTC has not joined the Megapixel war by cranking up more Megapixels on the Camera sensor but has taken a different approach known as UltraPixel which you can read about here.HTC did not reveal an exact market release date for the One handset or the price.
HTC has finally announced the HTC One, their new flagship Android smartphone. It has a 4.7 inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD display, powered by a 1.7 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) with the new HTC Sense UI and HTC BlinkFeed. It has an UltraPixel camera on the back with LED Flash and a 2.1MP HD front-facing camera with 88 wide angle lens with HDR capability. It comes with Beats audio support, Dual frontal stereo speakers with built-in amplifiers and dual microphones.

An interesting and unusual invite landed at our office today from BlackBerry and it was a cool heat sensitive mug ! Once we filled the mug with some hot liquid , the message slowly showed up on the mug. It reads – Block Your Date on Monday February 25th 2013. The Sony Xperia Z and Xperia ZL were introduced at the Consumer electronics show 2013 at Las Vegas recently. With both of them sporting a 5 inch 1080p screen and a powerful Qualcomm APQ8064 processor, they generated quite a lot of buzz at the trade show. It was announced that the global roll out will be started soon, and the above image is the first clue that both the Xperia Z and ZL are landing in the Indian markets soon. As you can see above, straight from the horse’s mouth, the Sony Xperia Z and Xperia ZL are supposedly “coming soon” to India.

The Ubuntu operating system for Smartphones was recently unveiled with its radical UI and user experience getting much praise and accolade from the tech press. We took a hands on look at the Ubuntu OS running on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, at the International CES 2013 and we were quite impressed with it. Canonical inc., the minds behind the OS promised to bring a very similar experience from the desktop Ubuntu OS that is widely installed by various classes of consumers, to the smartphone experience. And they have just done that, with the Ubuntu for Smartphones. While we got to know about the software, the hardware was literally non existent at the OS launch, but that might be fixed real soon with Canonical CEO Mark Shuttleworth promising devices as early as October 2013.

Long time back in August 2012, we had seen the Xiaomi MI-2 launch in China with it being the successor to the first MIUI phone, from the makers of the MIUI ROMs for Android. It has a 4.3-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display and is one of the first devices to pack the APQ8064 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor with Adreno 320 Graphics. It runs on the MIUI ROM based on Android 4.1.1 (Jelly Bean). We had some hands on time with the Xiaomi MI-2 at the International CES 2013 and here is a hands on video demo of it.

The HTC M7 is almost confirmed, with them planning the press event at London and NYC on the 19th of February, right before the Mobile World Congress at Barcelona, which is starting on the 25th. But according to some new leaks from the leakmeister, @EVleaks at UnwiredView, HTC is filling up its portfolio with two other devices, the HTC M4 and the HTC G2. By looking at the specs, the HTC M4 looks like a mid to high end device, with possibilities of it being a successor to the HTC One S. It is also interesting to note that the hardware specs somewhat resemble the HTC Windows Phone 8X, while the HTC G2(which bears no similarities to the first Android phone) is supposedly a low end device and a probable successor to the HTC Desire C.
