Since the Windows Phone 8 reboot, Nokia has so far launched five devices, with the Lumia 920 and the Lumia 820 launching way back in September 2012, then the Nokia Lumia 620 at LeWeb, and the Nokia Lumia 720 and Lumia 520 at the Mobile World Congress. The portfolio of devices cover almost all the price points of the market, and the Lumia 620 is in that special mid range segment. Same time last year, Nokia had the Lumia 610 as the predecessor to the 620, but the hardware was so lacking(with 256MB of RAM) and Windows Phone 7 was not really up to the mark in terms of market expectations. Fast forward to this year, Windows Phone 8 brings a lot of features and ticks check boxes of most requested features including Bluetooth file transfer, mass storage, support for micro SD cards, NFC tap to send etc and the hardware too has gained some decent specs, with respect to the Lumia 620. The Nokia Lumia 620 just launched in India, and for all you prospective buyers or owners, a good news is that Nokia just announced a rugged shell CC-3061 for the device with IP 54 dust and water protection. This shell is not a cover, not a pouch, but a replaceable shell that can just swap with your present one. The shell can withstand dust and splashes of water defined by the Ingress Protection rating of IP 54. It is slated to be available within a month.

Yes, the cat is finally out of the bag. Nokia Lumia 620, the company’s mid range Windows Phone 8 device that has been much awaited in the Indian market, has finally gone on sale in the Nokia India online shop. The currently available colours on sale are Cyan, Green, White and Magenta while the Yellow and Black variants are still shown as “Coming soon”, but we think it’s a work in progress at the site, and it might be available soon too. All the colour variations are priced at Rs. 14,999/- with delivery marked as “within 7 days” meaning it is already hitting retail anytime now.

At a press conference in New Delhi, Nokia has launched the much awaited mid end Windows Phone 8 Lumia 620 in India. Nokia had announced the Lumia 620 at the Le Web Conference in Paris last month, and it was the first affordable Windows Phone 8 device from Nokia. The device, with pretty great specs for a mid end device was a surprise announcement at Le Web, and comes with sweet dual coloured polycarbonate variations. It was revealed to the world by Marko Ahtisaari, the principal design head of Nokia.
