Sprint has begun the roll-out of Android Lollipop 5.1.1 for the LG G Flex 2 devices on its network. The update was made live as an OTA update for users yesterday. The update changes the version number from LS996ZV5 to LS996ZV6.

The Department of Telecom (DoT) issued letters of intent (LoIs) recently to Bharti Airtel, Vodafone India, Idea Cellular, Reliance Communications and Reliance Jio Infocomm, who won spectrum in auction earlier this March, according to a report from the ET. At the end of the recent auction for 800 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz and 2100 MHz spectrum, government got bids worth Rs 1.098 lakh crore. The Motorola DROID Turbo that is available in the USA on Verizon’s network was launched in India as the Moto Turbo in March. The Moto Turbo came preloaded with Android Lolliopop 5.0 out of the box. The DROID Turbo and the Mexican variant known as the Moto Maxx still haven’t gotten the update though and are still running on KitKat 4.4.4.

Airtel has launched its 4G LTE trails in Hyderabad and Vishakapatnam, after launching 4G trails Mumbai and Chennai last week. It is based on 1800MHz FDD-LTE band 3, which the company acquired last year. Hyderabad and Vishakapatnam become second and third cities in the country to get Airtel’s FDD-LTE service, after Chennai. Airtel currently offers TDD-LTE services in Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Chandigarh and Amritsar.
