Samsung Galaxy S6 Active Leak

All signs indicate that the much awaited Galaxy S6 Active is right around the corner. The ruggedized version of the highly rated Android smartphone has been spotted in a number of images by prolific leaker @evleaks but this time around it is Samsung that has gone ahead and put up the details on it’s support website.

The essentials remain the same and while we are disappointed that it packs the same 2,550mAh battery instead of the 3,500mAh unit that was rumored, it is nice to see that the Korean giant has figured out a way to integrate the fingerprint reader here as well. It appears that the handset will only be available in a 32GB variant without any microSD expansion on offer. The regular Galaxy S6 ships in 32/64/128GB versions.

Galaxy S6 Active Specifications

  • 5.1-inch 2560 x 1440 Super AMOLED display
  • Octa-Core Exynos 7420 SoC
  • 32GB UFS 2.0 storage
  • 16MP rear camera and 5MP front camera
  • Bluetooth 4.1, WiFi ac Dual-Band MIMO, GPS, NFC, Heart Rate Sensor, Infrared Blaster
  • 2,550mAh battery
  • Android 5.0 Lollipop
  • 5.65 x 2.78 x 0.27 inches in size
